"*Cluck* *Cluck*" came the sound of a clucking chicken as Dom walked into the house.
"Hello princess" said Dom with a smile as he walked into the living room.
"Daddy!!" said Joy as she ran to Dom excitedly and he carried her, he was chanced today to come home for lunch and he wished that he could do that every day.
"How was your day princess?" asked Dom with a smile.
"Very good daddy, wait, I have to go pee" said Joy as Dom laughed and he put her down as she want out of the dining room as Dom looked at Natasha.
"Hi Natasha" said Dom as he smiled.
"Hi" replied Natasha as Dom heard more clucking and he finally noticed a reddish brown chicken with a pink leash on it standing on the dining table and pecking on it.
"Is that a chicken??" asked Dom in confusion.
"It's a chicken" replied Natasha in a mix of sarcasm and tiredness.
"What's a chicken doing in the dining room? What's a chicken doing in here at all?" asked Dom as he sat in his spot at the dining table, he wasn't fazed by the chicken, not at all, after all Natasha seemed to be calm, especially with it pecking on their dining table, he was just confused that a chicken was here, this was not a farm after all.
"It's the new member of our family" said Lulu with a smile as she walked into the dining room and gave Dom his food and he thanked her as she gave Natasha her food.
"What do you mean new member of the family?" asked Dom as Lulu sat down and opened a can of corn as she poured it in a bowl and put it in front of the chicken.
"Well your Grandfather came here unannounced, he apparently heard of Joy's sadness with not being able to have a pet with my allergies, so he brought a solution" said Natasha as she buttered a piece of toast and ate it.
"That's the solution?" asked Dom as he pointed to the chicken.
"That's the solution" replied Natasha in a fake happy tone as Dom laughed.
"Sometimes I can't handle Grandfather, he's like a child" said Natasha as she sighed and shook her head.
"And he's an eighty year old man, who believed that a chicken is an appropriate pet for a five year old" said Natasha as Dom laughed.
"Well when they get to that age, they start to act like children" said Dom.
"You are right about that Dom, but don't let that childish act of Grandfather fool you, he can still be as strict and stubborn as before" said Lulu as she laughed.
"However childish he is, this was a horrible solution" said Natasha.
"What if the chicken pecks Joy's finger, or tears up the cushions?" asked Natasha.
"After all, that's a freaking chicken, something I would like to see on my plate, and not like that" said Natasha in annoyance as Lulu gasped.
"Natasha, not in front of the chicken, you will hurt her feelings" said Lulu as Dom laughed.
"I'm sorry Lulu, I am just so upset about this" said Natasha as she sighed.
"I know you are" said Lulu as she laughed.
"Grandfather is just too much sometimes, first he comes without telling me, and he brings a chicken that apparently is the best chicken and also potty trained" said Natasha as Dom laughed.
"Wait he said that?" asked Dom in disbelief.
"His words exactly" said Natasha as she looked at the chicken that was quiet.
"And he made things worse by showing Joy the chicken before telling me, Joy already got attached to the chicken and I could not say no, so here we are" said Natasha as she ate her toast.
"But look on the bright side, with a chicken we can have fresh eggs every day" said Lulu with a smile.
"That's exactly what Joy and Grandfather said" said Natasha.
"That's actually a good idea, fresh eggs every day, we can get some more and build a coop for them in the garden" said Dom.
"Yes, yes, that sounds lovely" said Lulu as she laughed.
"Hold up, no way, one chicken is more than enough, I don't need chickens everywhere, let's just buy eggs like normal people" said Natasha.
"It's not that bad Natasha, it's a good idea" said Dom.
"Right, and then next thing you know we'll get a goat for cheese, and a sheep for wool, and a freaking cow for fresh milk, this won't be a house, it would be a farm" said Natasha as Lulu laughed.
"Alright, alright, good point" said Dom.
"Gosh, you really are against this" said Lulu.
"I am putting my foot down on this, no more animals" said Natasha.
"Alright then" said Dom as Lulu laughed and Joy ran into the dining room.
"Daddy, Daddy, Grandpappy came over and he brought me a chicken, this is my new pet chicken" said Joy excitedly as Dom smiled at her.
"That's nice my princess" said Dom with a smile.
"So do you have a name for her yet?" asked Lulu as she smiled.
"Yes, her name is Meggie the chicken" said Joy with a giggle as Meggie clucked and Dom and Lulu laughed.
"Hello Meggie" said Lulu as she waved at the chicken.
"Well my darling, Meggie is not sleeping in your room, she will sleep outside" said Natasha as Joy looked at her.
"But why mommy? I want her to sleep with me" said Joy.
"My princess, Meggie is a chicken, she is used to staying outside, let her stay outside" said Dom.
"Okay" said Joy.
"You want some fries?" asked Lulu with a smile.
"Yes please Aunt Lulu" said Joy with a smile as Lulu carried her and made her sit on her lap as Joy giggled.
…
"A chicken?" asked Nine, Charlie and Michael as they could not believe what they were hearing.
"Yes, you heard right, a chicken, and Natasha is really upset about it" said Dom as he laughed.
"Wow, and just when I thought Grandfather couldn't be any weirder" said Charlie as he laughed.
"But a chicken?" asked Nine.
"Yes a chicken, Joy named her Meggie" said Dom as he laughed.
"Wow" said Michael.
"Yes, so I need you to build Meggie a pen Charlie, Natasha won't let her sleep inside, so we should at least make her a pen" said Dom.
"On it, I will get started on it right now, funny enough, I've been itching to do some woodwork" said Charlie as he laughed.
"I know, so you should have fun" said Dom as he laughed.
"I will" said Charlie.
"Well if we now have a chicken, no doubt Grandfather would get another one since he was able to get away with it" said Michael.
"That's Natasha's worst fear, that the house will turn into a farm" said Dom as Michael laughed.
"But she's putting her foot down, no more animals" said Dom as he laughed.
"You don't seem to care that you now have another mouth to feed" said Nine.
"Oh ha, ha very funny Nine" said Dom as he laughed.
"I'm serious, the chicken doesn't bother you" said Nine.
"Well yes, honestly it doesn't bother me, I'm not home all day most times, and I only come back in the evening, by that time the chicken should already be outside" said Dom.
"But Natasha is mostly home all day, she will have to deal with the chicken noises, and the mess and everything" said Dom.
"If you were the one Grandfather asked for permission to bring the chicken, what would you say?" asked Michael.
"And give the honest answer" said Charlie.
"I know how much Joy wants a pet, and she can't have one, if it was up to me, I would say yes" said Dom as he laughed.
"You see, you say yes, and Natasha says no, that's how fights start" said Michael.
"Well thank goodness she was the one that dealt with the chicken issue, I don't need her on my neck about the chicken.
"I agree with that, well let me go now and get started my niece needs a pen for her new chicken Maggie" said Charlie as he stood up.
"It's Meggie" said Dom.
"I don't see the difference" said Charlie as Dom laughed and Charlie left the room.
"But still a chicken, Grandfather really outdid himself this time" said Nine as he shook his head.
"I remember when I was little and I asked him for a hamster and he said no, but he gave Joy a chicken" said Nine.
"Grandfather is very old now, I bet you if Joy lived with him, he would spoil her" said Michael as he laughed.
"That is the truth, he will spoil her, no doubt about that, he's only strict with us, but soft with her" said Dom as he shook his head and he laughed.
