Natasha sighed in relief as the handcuffs on her were finally being taken off as she could heard the clink as she brought her hands in front of her and she rubbed her wrists, they were aching her.
"Don't get used to the feeling" said Frank as he sat down across Natasha on the other side of the table in the little room that they were in.
Natasha looked around the room, as she saw a little glass window, it looked like there was nothing on the other side of the window, but Natasha had watched enough crime movies to know that was one way glass, and there were many other police officers watching from the other side.
"I don't think that's how you should talk to someone, especially a woman" said Natasha as Frank scoffed at her.
"There is no gender here, you are a criminal" said Frank.
"I am no criminal, and I am not guilty until proven otherwise" said Natasha as she replied.
"Mhmm, right, lady, just keep on playing that game, all evidence leads to you" said Frank as Natasha said nothing at all, just how was she supposed to get the heck out of this mess, she had been thinking, but nothing had come to mind.
"Anyway, start talking, why did you smuggle in drugs?" asked Frank as he opened up a little notepad and he got a pen from the front pocket and he looked at Natasha.
"I am not saying anything till my lawyer arrives" said Natasha as she did not have a personal lawyer, but she was trying to buy some time, she knew that Pete would find a way to get her out of here, somehow.
"You don't need a lawyer here, we need your statement as you are the criminal in question" said Frank.
"Don't call me a criminal" said Natasha as she was annoyed.
"You don't really have a say, go on lady, explain yourself" said Frank as Natasha scoffed but she took a deep breath as she just looked at him.
"Those drugs are not mine" said Natasha.
"Right, so they just magically appeared in your suitcase" said Frank.
"Yes, well I mean, no, but I didn't put them there" said Natasha as she tried to explain.
"Mhmm" said Frank in sarcasm as he wrote something down.
"What are you writing?" asked Natasha.
"Nothing that concerns you Mrs. White" said Frank.
"Oh so you do know my name, you know who I am" said Natasha as Frank looked at her.
"Yes, I know you, the wife of one of the biggest business men in our city, your names isn't the common" said Frank.
"And I want you to know that just because you are married to a rich and influential man, does not mean that you will not face the full wrath of the law for what you did" said Frank as Natasha scoffed, like she would ask Dom for help, she would rather be dead than have to resort to that.
"Look, you know who I am, who my family is, I don't lack any money, so why would I for the life of me, smuggle in drugs?" asked Natasha.
"That's what we are trying to find out now Miss, you never know, people have different intentions, you can never know who people really are on the inside" said Frank as Natasha sighed, common sense was not working here with this man.
"Let's continue on with the interrogation now should we Mrs. White" said Frank as he smiled and Natasha just looked at him.
"It says here that you mentioned something about the suitcase where the drugs were found, being a gift?" asked Frank as he looked at Natasha.
"Yes, yes, it was a gift, from a son of a… *Ahem*, yes it was a gift" said Natasha as she cleared her throat, she did not want to swear here, but Romanoff deserved curses rained on him for the trouble he got her into right now.
"Can you prove that it was truly a gift? And I mean, receipts, text messages? Anything?" asked Frank as Natasha sighed, she had none of those, Romanoff didn't give her the receipt for the suitcase, and she did not know where he bought it from, even if they did know that, would it be possible to go all the way back to Russia to the same store to ask for proof.
"Hmm interesting… no proof for a supposed gift" said Frank as he wrote down in his notebook.
"Look, listen, I am innocent, I was set up, I have no use for drugs, I don't sell them" said Natasha.
"You can never know Mrs. White, maybe you are one of them, a junkie, after all, you can never tell who uses or doesn't" said Frank.
"How dare you" said Natasha in anger, this man had no right to say such to her, not at all, he was calling her a junkie.
"You have no right to call me a junkie, because I am not one at all" said Natasha as she snapped at him, she felt like hitting him for what he said to her.
"I am sure that insulting others is not part of your job description as a police officer, I know my rights, and I won't take your unprofessional insults" said Natasha.
"And you should also know that if you try to insult me, that would be akin to disrespecting a police officer, which is on its own a charge itself" said Frank as Natasha scoffed, this man was difficult very difficult.
"Anyway Mrs. White, you will undergo a drug test, and might I add that if you are found using, you will face a higher charge" said Frank.
"Then bring it on" said Natasha as she smiled, she had no drugs in her system not at all.
"Whatever" said Frank as he scoffed.
Pete sighed as he walked into the hall where the other Police officers were standing as he looked through the glass and he saw Natasha in there, he did not know what to do right now.
"Boss, what do you think?" asked Morales as he looked at Pete who looked at him.
"It Is possible that all of this was just a set up, and she is just a drug mule, those drug lords do that sometimes, they use innocent people as carriers for their drugs" said Pete.
"We will need more proof to prove that Boss" said Morales as Pete nodded his head, he knew that he was right.
"Frank, enough, get out here" said Pete as he spoke into his walkie-talkie and Frank nodded his head as he replied and Pete walked away.
…
"Welcome home Mrs. White, I hope you are comfortable here" said Frank as he guided Natasha into a cell as she turned to look at him and he closed the cell door as he smiled at her and Natasha scoffed as he locked the cell with a key and he walked away.
Natasha paced up and down, she could not believe this, she could not believe what nonsense Romanoff how got her into.
She could not believe that she was so naïve as to believe Romanoff, even for one second, he was a criminal after all, she should have known better than to trust him.
Now It all made sense it was all coming together, Vicki never broke into her room to steal her suitcase, Romanoff did, or at least he sent someone to, and then he pretended as if he didn't know anything about it, and she was so stupid as to believe that he was giving her a going away present, she knew that there was something suspicious about the whole thing, but she could have never in her life imagined that he would do this, set her up like this, he let her go knowing fully well that she was carrying drugs in her suitcase.
The only thing that Natasha did not get was why Romanoff would do this to her? Her mind went to when Romanoff gave her the suitcase, he kept on saying something about loyalty? Which loyalty, Natasha had thought that maybe he was just saying things, but now, she was sure that his words held deeper meaning.
"Romanoff you scoundrel, what do you mean by loyalty?" asked Natasha out loud.
"What exactly is loyal about this entire situation you scum, I curse that I actually was so stupid enough as to trust you, what exactly do I say now to get myself out of this??" asked Natasha as she groaned and she sighed, she wished that this was just a bad dream that she would wake up from, but that was far from the truth, she knew that this was as real as the day.
Natasha sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair, she did not know what to do, she needed a lawyer, a good one at that, she needed to call her someone trustworthy for help, but her phone had been ceased, this was just so frustrated.
Natasha took a deep breath as she heard the sound of some footsteps and a cell door being opened.
"Commander" said two officers are they saluted Pete.
"You both can go, I will take it from here" said Pete.
"Yes Commander" said the officers as they nodded and they walked away as Pete walked to Natasha's cell that was in the far corner as he got a key and he opened the cell door as Natasha turned to look at him.
"Natasha" said Pete as he could not believe this, he could not believe that he was seeing Natasha behind bars.
"Hi Pete…" said Natasha as she bit her lip, she knew that she had a lot of explaning to do.
