Chapter 38 - Old times

"Come on let's go" said Charlie as he was dressed casually today, and he had even combed his hair.

"And where exactly are we going?" asked Nine as he looked at Charlie suspiciously.

"We are going to the office of course!!" said Charlie.

"Where else would we go?" he asked.

"Seeing as we have been friends for almost more than half our lives, I still do not trust you" said Nine.

"For all I know, we could end up in Cambodia, if I follow you blindly" said Nine.

"Oh haha haha, very funny Nine" said Charlie sarcastically.

"We are going to the office because today, Dom has to hang out with us by fire by force" said Charlie.

"You do know that he might not go out of the office right?" asked Nine.

"Yes I do, which is why it is our duty as his friends, to liberate him from his work" said Charlie.

"For all we know the next news we will be hearing is that Dom has gotten grey hairs all over his head" said Charlie.

"You mean your duty" said Nine.

"Hey we are a team" said Charlie.

"Charlie, you always have the worst timing, today is Monday, the first day of the week, where normal, hardworking people work" said Nine as he shook his head.

"And you don't have any timing at all" said Charlie

"Yes Nine, I know that today is Monday" said Charlie

"And I also know that you know that Dom works harder than anyone else, so he does deserve to slack off and skip work sometimes" said Charlie

"Sometimes a boss needs to relax too" said Charlie.

"And besides you don't have a choice" said Charlie as he looked very smug.

"Who else would drive me?? You know that my driver's licence was ceased after a umm *cough* little incident that happened a while back" said Charlie

"You mean to say you were caught speeding" said Nine as he felt like face-palming himself.

Charlie always used the "I am older than you" card and yet he did things that made Nine always wonder if the date of birth on Charlie's birth certificate was accurate at all.

"It is not called speeding, when you just did not happen to see the speed limit sign" said Charlie

"You know what, let's just go" said Nine as he sighed, he was tired of being Charlie's babysitter, that was not a one man Job, It was a two man job.

"There you go Nine" said Charlie as he knew his convincing would work.

"Enter" said Dom as he heard a knock on the door.

"Sir there are some men that are here for…" said the secretary as she was cut off.

"Hey Dommm" said Charlie as he walked into Dom's office before the Secretary could ask if Dom wanted to see them.

"Sir I tried to stop him but…" said the Secretary.

"It's okay, you can go back to your desk" said Dom as he looked at the Secretary.

"Okay Sir" she said as she left.

"If the Dom won't come to you, then you will just have to go to the Dom" said Charlie as he sat on one of the chairs like a boss.

Dom looked at Nine who entered after Charlie.

"You let him come and do this?" asked Dom.

"Do I have a choice??" replied Nine as he looked at Dom, and Dom knew he was right.

"Well anyway, that does not matter" said Dom.

"So what brings you here Charlie?" asked Dom as Nine sat down beside Charlie.

"Well we are here to take you out" said Charlie.

"To take me out?" asked Dom.

"Yes of course" said Charlie as he nodded his head.

"You do know that today is Monday right?" asked Dom as he looked at Charlie.

"Yes yes I do, Nine said the same thing" said Charlie as he looked annoyed.

"Okay then, I was just checking" said Dom

"Enough checking, let's go out, what do you say?" asked Charlie.

"Charlie, it's…" said Dom as he looked down at his silver watch.

"It's 10am, and yet you want me to go out??" asked Dom.

"I have to work you know" said Dom.

"Yes, yes I do know" said Charlie.

"Which is why I suggest that we go out for lunch" said Charlie.

"I have plans with Lia, but okay let's see" said Dom as he brought out his phone and he dialled Lia's number.

"Hey Lia" said Dom as his call was picked almost instantly.

"Hi Dom" replied Lia

"What time are you coming to the office?" asked Dom.

"Umm about 12pm, why do you ask?" asked Lia.

"Well Charlie and Nine are here, and they want to go out" said Dom.

"You don't mind if they come along right?" asked Dom.

"No no, of course I don't mind" said Lia as she laughed.

"They are free to come along" said Lia.

"The more the merrier" she said.

"And besides it would be just like old times" said Lia as she smiled.

"Yes just like old times" replied Dom as he smiled.

"Great" said Dom.

"So change of plans, you don't have to come to the office to give me my car" said Dom.

"You can just text me the address of the restaurant and we will meet there" said Dom.

"Oh okay then" said Lia

"See you at 12" he said.

"See you" said Lia as she smiled and Dom cut the call.

"We can all go out for lunch together" said Dom as he placed his phone on his desk.

"Alright that is a great idea" said Charlie while Nine just grunted.

"Where are we going?" asked Charlie.

"I don't know, Lia will choose" said Dom as he returned back to looking at some documents.

He frowned, he saw something that he did not like.

"Ahhh I see" said Charlie as he looked at Nine.

"Anyway, we have two hours till we go" said Charlie as he rested into the sofa.

"Yes, two hours for me to work, and for you guys, especially you Charl, to go somewhere else" said Dom as he looked at Charlie who just smiled at him.

"No need to chase us out, we will not be bored at all, in fact I like the change of scenery, right nine?" said Charlie as he looked out the glass pane windows.

Nine just grunted and looked at Charlie with an expression that read "Don't talk to me"

"Okay okay fine, such good friends I have" said Charlie as he was sarcastic.

"Anyway, In all seriousness, there is something else I came here to discuss with you Dom" said Charlie as he went serious.

"Oh and what is that?" asked Dom as he looked up.

"It's about that woman" said Charlie angrily.

"What about her?" asked Dom as he seemed uninterested.

"She has changed, I don't know what she is up to but she is planning something I know it" said Charlie.

"I have noticed it too" said Dom, he had noticed Natasha's change in behaviour towards him and well... everybody, she did not urge to touch him or be close to him at all, she did not even call him by his nickname that she loved to use, she even went as far as being very formal with him.

This all confused Dom, he could not wrap his head around it, Natasha had never acted to him that way, NEVER, and with their last argument, she seemed very angry, and not because he was angry with her, but because she was angry with him???

"She moved out of the East Wing last week" said Dom.

"Wait she did??" asked Charlie as he was shocked, even Nine who was busy observing had a surprised look on his face.

"Mhmm" said Dom.

"Then in that case Dom, I think you should know that she started learning how to fight, she got one of the new bodyguard recruits to train her" said Charlie.

"She did??" asked Dom.

"How come I never heard of this??" asked Dom.

"I was sure that you were not aware of what she was doing, and that was why I decided to inform you" said Charlie.

"You are right about that" said Dom, even though he did not love her, he still cared for her, she was the mother of his child after all, and he did not want her to get hurt.

"I am sure that she is doing all this to get attention, she even went out to God knows where yesterday afternoon" said Dom.

"Now I am truly surprised" said Charlie as this baffled him greatly.

"I am sure she is planning something" said Charlie.

"Yes, and considering how she can be, I don't ant her to do something horrible" said Dom.

"Maybe we should ask Lia" said Charlie.

"They were together on Saturday, she must have said something to her" said Charlie.

"Maybe she did" said Dom.

"Anyway, I have to recheck this figures with the one on the computer system" said Dom.

"Alright do your thing, we will wait" said Charlie as he rested into the sofa lazily which made Dom scoff.
