Chapter 12 - Planning

"Hey Benji, wait up" called Charlie as he ran after Benjamin who looked like he was sneakily trying to escape.

"Benji, I am talking to you" said Charlie as he caught hold of Benjamin.

"Here we go again" said Benjamin as he sighed to himself, he could not even go and get his lunch in peace without nosy Charlie calling out to him.

"Yes, sorry Charlie, I did not hear you" said Benjamin as he had up an excuse, he did not hear Charlie because he did not want to hear him.

"I see" said Charlie as he looked like he did not believe Benjamin at all.

"So what do you have there?" he asked.

"Oh this?" asked Benjamin as he raised up a plastic bag in his hand.

"Yes that" replied Charlie.

"It's just my late breakfast Sandwich" replied Benjamin.

"Alright I see" said Charlie.

"What type of sandwich is it?" asked Charlie.

"It's a chicken sandwich" replied Benjamin.

"*Sigh* Charlie, did you just come all the way here to ask me about my sandwich?" asked Benjamin as he just had to ask, Charlie could be unbearable at times, and this was one of those times.

Benjamin had not even been working here for more than three months and somehow he managed to know the type of person Charlie was, and he was the obnoxious, annoying type.

It was times like these that Benjamin would rather take having a conversation with the aloof, cold Nine.

"Chill down, where are you rushing too?" asked Charlie as he did not answer Benjamin's question.

"I am going to my room" said Benjamin, he was not usually a talkative person, but he knew that with Charlie, you either had to speak up for yourself, or you would be forced into something that you did not want to do at all.

"What's wrong with eating here??" asked Charlie

"This is a general space for everyone to eat" he said as he looked around.

Charlie and Benjamin were currently in the main kitchen that was specifically built for the bodyguards, and there were small indoor and outdoor areas for the bodyguards to eat and relax.

"I prefer to eat alone" said Benjamin.

"Okay then if that is the case Benji" replied Charlie.

"I told you before, my name is Benjamin not Benji" said Benjamin as he hoped that he would get across to Charlie this time.

"Benji, Benjamin, they are all the same to me" replied Charlie.

"Charlie what can I do for you?" asked Benjamin as he sighed, he was going nowhere with this.

"Benji, I wanted to ask if you saw that woman today" said Charlie as his tone became serious.

"You mean the Madam?" asked Benjamin.

"She does not deserve to be called by that name" said Charlie.

"Anyway did you see her?" asked Benjamin.

"Yes, I did, what is the matter??" asked Benjamin as he still did not know what was going on her, it seemed like everyone in the whole house had no respect for the Madam.

Just because he was new here did not mean that he was stupid, he wondered what could have happened to make them all resent her like that, from the little encounter they had this morning, the madam did not seem like such a bad person.

But who was he to judge? everyone had some hidden characters that they never showed.

"What did she want?" asked Charlie.

"Come again?" asked Benjamin.

"I asked you what she wanted Benji" said Charlie.

"Well she did not want anything" said Benjamin.

"She only wants to learn how to fight" said Benjamin.

"Ha, I don't believe her" said Charlie.

"Why not?" asked Benjamin as he narrowed his eyes at Charlie.

"That woman has a plan and I know it" said Charlie.

"She said that she wants to learn to fight for self defense" said Benjamin.

"Self defense my foot" said Charlie with anger.

On a usual day Benjamin would not say so much about his personal affairs to anyone, but considering that Charlie was his boss, and the friend to the Young Master, he was sure that he knew what was going on in the house.

And to be honest Benjamin was curious as to why the Madam who had many bodyguards just like him at her disposal, would want to learn how to fight, when she was protected.

"What is going on around here?" asked Benjamin.

"Why do you hate the Madam so much?" he asked.

"That is none of your business Benji" said Charlie

"Just mind yourself and do as you are told" said Charlie as he warned Benjamin.

"And oh, one more thing, be careful with that woman" said Charlie before he angrily walked away, leaving Benjamin to decide that staying quiet was the best thing for him in this place.

Benjamin just walked away to his room, he knew that it was a bad idea to ask Charlie that question in the first place, Charlie was as hard brass, he would never budge or talk.

Which meant that Benjamin truly had to mind his own business, before he got in trouble and got involved in something that did not concern him, he was here to work and not get himself involved in a family drama.

"Look who woke up on the wrong side of the bed today" came a voice that followed Charlie as he walked out of the kitchen.

"I do not need your pestering today Nine" replied Charlie as he stopped working and turned around.

"Really?? because it looks like you do" said Nine as he walked forward.

"What made you look like this?" asked Nine as it was usually him doing the cold, angry attitude, seems like their roles were reversed today.

"You know that it is only that woman that can make me feel so angry" replied Charlie.

"What did she do this time?" asked Nine as he did not look surprised.

"She asked Benji to teach her how to fight, in the name of self defense" said Charlie.

"Can you believe that??" asked Charlie.

"That is odd" said Nine as he seemed to be thinking.

"Yes it is, which is why I am suspicious of this whole thing, and her sudden interest to know how to fight" said Charlie.

"She is planning something, I am sure of it!" said Charlie.

"Relax Charlie" said Nine

"I cannot relax, you and I both know why we hate that woman so much" said Charlie.

"She is just bent on ruining Dom's life" said Charlie.

"And I hate that" he said.

"And you want to go over there and fight her?" asked Nine.

"No of course not, I cannot do that with Joy there" said Charlie.

"Good answer, so I suggest you calm yourself down, and take your own advice and mind your own business" said Nine as he did not looked fazed at all.

"How can you say that?? Dom is our friend" said Charlie

"Yes he is my friend, and hence why instead of troubling him with an unserious matter at this very important time of his life, would only cause him more stress than relief" said Nine.

"If you care for our friend at all, then you would listen to what I am telling you" said Nine.

"You are not fair Nine, I am sure if Michael was here he would agree with me" said Charlie.

"Are you sure about that?" asked Nine

"We both know whose side he would be on" said Nine.

"I dare you, call him and ask his opinion" said Nine nonchalantly.

"Whatever" said Charlie as he walked away like a spoilt brat.

Nine knew that he acted stubborn and tough but he was sure that he would listen to him and not go and do something stupid.

"You never change Charlie" muttered Nine to himself.
