Chapter 10 - Mommies need to be fed too

"Mommy I have a question?" asked Joy as she looked up at her mother.

"Okay my baby what is it?" asked Natasha as she drank her tea, she had just finished taking a shower, she changed her clothes and combed her hair.

"Mommy, what did you do today?" asked Joy.

"In your training" said Joy.

"Well my baby" said Natasha as she used her thumb to wipe off crumbs of bread that were on Joy's cheeks.

"Well I ran today" said Natasha as she smiled.

"Ran?" asked Joy.

"Mhmm" said Natasha.

"Why did you run Mommy?? Was something chasing you?" asked Joy as cutely and as innocently as possible.

"Haha No my baby, nothing was chasing me" said Natasha as she laughed, her baby was just too cute.

"Running is good, it's healthy, and that's why I was running" said Natasha as she smiled and she pinched Joy's cheeks.

"Ahh I see now" said Joy as she seemed to understand.

"So can I go running with you mommy??" asked Joy.

"Of course you can my baby, we can go jogging together" said Natasha as she smiled.

"Yay" said Joy.

"And daddy can join us too, so we can all run together" said Joy as she smiled.

As soon as Joy mentioned her father, Natasha's smile wavered, it was inevitable for a child at Joy's age not to love her father, and she understood that, but she and Joy's father were not on good terms right now, they had not been for a long while now.

"Sure by baby" said Natasha.

"But I can't make any promises, you know how busy your dad is" said Natasha as she made an excuse.

She doubted if she and her husband could stay in the same room without arguing once, in fact the only thing that joined them together was their daughter Joy, and even then that was another whole story entirely.

Natasha had already made up her mind that she could never have a normal marriage like other people did, hers was just filled with heartache after heartache, and the only thing that relieved her was Joy.

"Yes, I know mommy" said Joy.

"So my baby, is your tutor coming today?" asked Natasha as she changed the subject, she could not handle talking about a man that she once loved but now hated.

"No Mommy, she said that she's sick with the flu" replied Joy.

"Awww, what a shame" said Natasha.

"Are you sure that you are okay?" asked Natasha as she used her hand to check Joy's temperature, she did not want Joy to also catch the flu.

"I am fine mommy, don't worry Miss B said that she caught it from her nephew, when she went to visit him after our lesson" said Joy.

"Ahh Okay my baby, I'm just checking" said Natasha.

"Mommy do you want some of my pancakes??" asked Joy as she felt full, but she did not want to waste her food.

"Sure my baby, are you full??" asked Natasha

"Yes Mommy" nodded Joy.

"Okay then" said Natasha as she smiled.

"Mommy can I feed you?" asked Joy.

"Haha what?? My baby why?" asked Natasha as she laughed, her baby had the most peculiar questions.

"Well because you fed me, so I want to feed you" said Joy.

"I fed you because you are my baby sweetie" said Natasha as she laughed.

"I'm not a baby, I'm your mommy" said Natasha as she laughed.

"But mommies need to be fed too" said Joy

Natasha laughed at Joy's reply, it was only her daughter that could say such words with a straight face, she looked like she was stating a point right now.

"Okay yes my baby that is true" said Natasha.

"Fine you can feed me" said Natasha as she knew that Joy would state all her points if she had to.

"Yayyy" said Joy.

"Open wide mommy" said Joy cutely as she picked up her fork and she cut a piece of her pancake.

Natasha did as she was told and she opened her mouth.

"Yayyy good mommy" said Joy, and Natasha almost choked, so it was true what they said about children copying our every move.

Joy's feeding style was messy, and Natasha got maple syrup all over her lips.

"What do I do with you my baby??" asked Natasha to herself as she shook her head and smiled.

"I see that the roles are reversed" said Alfred as he walked into the dining room to clear the remaining dishes, and instead he caught sight of the cutest thing he could see today, he was sure that if someone could die from cuteness, he would have been long gone already.

"I was feeding mommy, Alfred" said Joy as she turned to look at Alfred, as if she had just accomplished something very important.

"I can see that Joy" said Alfred as he could not hold back his laughter.

"This baby of mine, is not such a baby anymore" said Natasha as she used her napkin to wipe off the syrup on her lips.

"Children grow everyday Madam" said Alfred as he smiled.

"They sure do" said Natasha, she could not help but wonder what her grown up Joy was passing through at the news of her death.

Natasha quickly shook off that awful feeling of hers and she turned to Alfred.

"Alfred do you know when Miss B will be back?" asked Natasha

"I need to speak to her about something important" said Natasha

"Not exactly Madam, she called this morning to take her leave because she had caught the flu" said Alfred.

"I don't know for sure Madam, It depends on how long it takes her to recover" said Alfred.

"Okay then, when she finally recovers please inform me" said Natasha

"Will do Madam" said Alfred.

"Mommy, mommy, mommy, you need to take another bite" said Joy a she drew attention back to herself.

"My baby, I am getting full" said Natasha.

"Then this can be the last bite" said Joy.

"*Sigh* Okay then my baby" said Natasha

"Say Ahhhh" said Joy as she moved the fork to her mother's mouth, she was literally standing on the dining chair right now.

"Ahhh" said Natasha as Joy fed her.

Alfred could not take the cuteness overload, he wished that he had one of those modern phones so he could capture this cute moment.

"There" said Joy as she smiled.

"Haha Thank you my baby" said Natasha as she smiled.

"You are welcome mommy" said Joy.

"May I clear the table now?" asked Alfred with a smile.

"Sure go ahead Alfred" said Natasha as she smiled.
