After Breakfast Joy went back to her room to play, leaving her mother all alone, so she decided to take a shower, she made her way through the familiar halls that once haunted her.
The well known pathway to her so called bedroom that never welcomed her brought a stuffy feeling to her chest, she had once felt suffocated within these walls, but not this time, she was going to make a change...a change for the better.
As she entered the bedroom, several memories played back in her head, some good ones and some bad, to be honest there were more bad ones than good in this space she shared with her so called husband.
Her eyes went straight to the bed, Ha the black bedsheet, pillowcase and duvet she always hated were still there, she never once complained that she hated the bland colour, she wouldn't want to upset her so called husband, but that was before, but now... now she had changed
She took one last look at the black design of the bedroom and made her way to the bathroom.
She took a hot shower as an attempt to clean herself and make herself fresh, to wash all her problems and anxieties away with the water...if only that was possible, she would have been cleansed by now.
After her shower, the whole bathroom was filled with steam, she wore a bathrobe and went to the mirror.
The mirror was fogged up with steam and she used her hand to wipe it off and her reflection was seen, her long ginger wavy her cascaded down her shoulders and her brown eyes started watering once again.
She just couldn't help it, it felt like a dream but it was real, she thought it was the end but it wasn't, and now she's back, the thought of her being dead, her future self, and now she was back, she was young again.
That bad future of hers was no more, she was back to the past, to make her own future, a better one, a brighter one, she would fight for herself and her child, and she would make sure not to make any mistakes that would take this away from her.
"God Thank you, Thank you, I have a second chance, I Promise I will not waste it like did the last time, please give me strength" she said as she sobbed lightly, she could not remember the last time she had cried like this, it felt saddening and yet rejuvinating.
She quickly pulled herself together and got dressed, she took one more look at the room she would see for the last time and as she slowly closed the door behind her
She made her way to the east wing and walked into Joy's room and she found Alfred playing with Joy and it brought a smile to her face.
"Ahh Young Madam I didn't hear you enter" said Alfred as he gave Joy her toy.
"No worries Alfred I am glad to see Joy smile" she said with love in her eyes,
"It's my pleasure Madam" he replied, Alfred did not have any family of his own, and he had been working with this family for such a long time now, he even considered Joy like his own granddaughter.
"Oh Alfred I need your help with something" she said
"Okay what is it Madam?" he asked as he was ready to help.
"I need you to change the décor of the room opposite Joy's I want to move there" she said
"Okay Madam are they very major changes??" he asked
"Not too big changes, I just want to change the room's colour" she said
"Okay to which colour Madam?" he asked
"Yellow" she replied as she smiled
"I want is bright yellow" she said
"Okay Noted Madam I will inform the staff Immediately" he said as he started walking towards the door of the room.
"Thank you Alfred" she said as she smiled at him.
"It's my pleasure Madam" he replied as he walked out.
