Blake's POV
"What happened?" I jumped out of the car when I saw Em sitting on the staircase waiting for me to come home.
"Seriously, Blake, we have to get going!" Vicky climbs out of the car and, like always, fucking moans about shit. I run up to Emily, who looks like she passed out a few times. Her face was swollen. I search for any bleeding marks on her body, while my body is trembling with fear. What happened to her?
Her knuckles are busted, so it means she fought back. I had a small smile on the corners of my lips, but I still have fear.
"That's my girl," I mumbled.
"Blake?" Vicky yells.
"Just call a damn ambulance. We have to get going." My eyes still scan her body. She's really here, beat up, but she's here.
"Go fuck yourself," I yell at Vicky, who stomps her feet like a teenage girl when she couldn't get my attention.
"I got you." I picked Emily's beaten body up and memories serve through my mind from the first time I met her. This time it's different. This time I actually Uhm Uhm.. no no, I can't say it in my mind. I don't know how she feels or why she's here.
She finally opened her eyes and smiled. A painful smile, but she came here for me.
"Open your eyes, Em." I carelessly pull my fingers through her hair. Her eyes opened slowly but can't stay open for long periods.
"Em, what happened?" I asked when her lips moved.
"She's gone." She lets out in a crying voice.
"She's gone, and I never got to say goodbye to her." Het body trembles as I pick her head up and push her against my chest. The pain flowing out of her is killing me. I can't get her to stop crying and whoever she's talking about must've been close to her.
"Who is it? "
"My mother," she sobs into my shoulders. I let her cry, making my t-shirt soaking wet with her tears, and then it hit me!
"Em, who did this to you?" She kept quiet, her bloodshot eyes staring at me. I don't know how to handle this, but I sure going to fucking murder the bastard who did this.
"Was it him?" I referred to her stepfather. I can feel my veins boiling with anger.
She explained the day before what happened, the way she tried to fight her stepfather, and that her mother never used. He made her. She sobs more than what she explains.
My heart pains for her as the guilt takes over. She wanted to protect her mother, but she didn't even know how to protect herself.
"Em, calm down please," I asked. No, beg as her body trembles against mine and I can't seem to calm her down. The pain is taking her body over completely. I picked her up and moved towards the gym room. Her legs wrapped around my waist, her head resting on my shoulder, and she hasn't stopped crying.
I have the perfect medicine that would help now. I placed the gloves over her busted knuckles, and she looks confused.
"Breath Em, and let it out." I put her down on the ground and pulled the punching bag to the front. The unbearable pain on her face is sending a shiver down my spine and it's killing me. I never learned how to deal with painful emotions, but for some reason, she makes me weak for emotions.
"Hit it." I stand behind her, whispering into her ear while holding her tights.
"Blake." she lets out softly.
"Let it out, Em," I said again, and she punched the bag none stop, the tears flowing like a river out of her beautiful swollen eyes.
She started yelling. The fear and pain multiplied and her emotions took over as she punched the bag.
"Why? Why did you leave me, mother? How am I supposed to take on the monster? You left me!" she screams, hitting the bag until I stopped her and pulled her closer to me.
"No, leave me, I need to defeat him, I need him to feel the way I feel," she screams while hitting me. I manage to grab her hands and bring her back to reality.
"Em, it's me. Calm down, please. Breath." she took a deep breath in and out while she concentrate on mine.
"That's it, keep going," I instructed her, to keep her tempo. I can feel her relaxing as she concentrates on me and not on her emotions that took over.
"Why did you do this?" she asked. I pulled her closer, her face inches away from me.
"I needed you to realise that an emotion is just a feeling. It's how you handle the emotion that will determine your feelings." She glares at me.
"The way you handle your emotions at the club." She throws the ball back at me. I guess she's still pissed and letting out all the pain is not helping.
"Why did you come here if you're still holding it against me?" I still hold her close to me, carrying her cheeks.
"I needed you," she admits.
"You're the only one that knows how to make me breathe without feeling that I'm suffocating. I'm moving closer to the bottom, and you are the only one who can pull me up." I don't respond. Instead, my emotions took over, the emotions I've been trying to hide for so long.
"Just, for once, give in, Blake. You let me punch a bag and let out my demons and fear," she said. I don't really know what she means by saying I must give in, but I quickly picked up the vibe when she placed her arms around my neck.
"We agreed no things attach." I reminded her not that I wanted it. I want her so badly. I want to give in, feel her emotions and let on the adrenalin I feel every time I'm around here.
Her long stares put me into a trance. Her past haunts her as she glares for any reaction besides showing her that I don't want this, where I want it more than anything else in the world.
"I never said that we should let it cloud our judgement. I just need you right now," she placed her forehead against mine while she moans in pain.
"Em, you're in pain."
"I've been in pain for most of my life. For once, let me just feel alive and not feel anything," she begs. My lips almost touched hers. I don't really know what to think of this. Is she doing it out of anger and pain, or because she really wants me?
"Please!" she closed her eyes while begging me to give into her. I've had girls begging me before kissing them and making love to them, where I gave in, but only for my pleasure. With Emily, I can't. I need her to feel safe and not used. I never want her to think that I would ever use her, even though we said no strings attached.
Our lips are close to each other's mouths. I don't know how much longer I can resist it. She closes her eyes and breath slowly.
"Breath Blake, and let go," she whispered into my mouth.
