He smiled at her—a dangerous smile and he chuckled when he saw her shuddered in fear.
"Is it necessary for you to scare the poor girl?" Mariano asked and became the recieving end of Calixto's murderous face. But unlike when he smiled at Iris, the danger in his stance was not meant as a joke or to scare. He meant it in every fiber of his being and he felt like laughing out loud if only he was not worried to scare Iris for real once he and Calixto fight with each other.
He is also a man. He could feel the reason why Calixto wanted to tear him limb by limb. Jealousy had always been the motive for passion killing.
"Iris, why don't you sit down," Mariano said, eyeing Calixto silently giving him a warning that if he ever attacked him, he would not back down and he should be responsible for the trauma that it would cause Iris.
