Erica walked out of the room, not interested in whatever anyone had to say. She knew it was wrong to protect her sister, but she had no choice. Whatever Mellisa had accepted was out of peer pressure as she was just eighteen at the time Pickford sold her. She believed she was being groomed and there was a way to snap her out of it just like Abby was snapped out.
She walked straight to Mellisa's room, trying to hide all the emotions running through her head. Michael followed from behind as she entered her sister's room.
Melissa quickly got up and gave her a hug. Erica remained still, without returning the hug. Her body was somehow stiff and tense. Melissa could feel the change. She quickly let go of her and looked Erica straight in the eye. Something had changed and was really off, but she could not tell what it was.
"Are you okay? Where have you been? I have been looking for you," Melissa asked her.
