***The butterfly effect
A tiny cute butterfly flapping its adorable wings today may lead to a devastating hurricane weeks from now that can cause a huge gore massacre.
Elianna stared at her phone puzzled. The tiny screen has recommended them to not in any way offend the strange creature with wings. Emmanuel picked his phone as well and it was dead now. It didn't display any warning and assumed the others didn't receive anything as well. He stared at the screen until Elianna told him to scroll down.
{A tiny decision can lead to unlimited possibilities. Choose your actions wisely fellow players of the dead. The smallest decision can shape how your future unfolds. Don't make the same mistakes as I did and made my future worse than I imagined. I may be one of those souls condemned to roam around the Hydra Grim. Be wary, fellow former humans! Be wary of the red eyes!}
Emmanuel and Elianna looked at each other, frowning. No one knew why only her phone got such messages. However, it would be a mistake to ignore the warnings. The creature stared at Jack, annoyed, as Diana and Maria stuck to him behind his back for protection. Elianna's chest became stuffy.
[The others will join you soon. Don't worry! You are twenty-two in total. You cannot turn bored just from seeing me. C'mon! The fun is just starting! You are really loud, little fake Prince. Do you have to show such a stupid attempt? I am the one in charge for explaining to your group. You will join the rest soon. Don't fret!]
The creature was a presence with stronger persuasive powers than anyone else.
[I am Hydra Grim! Pleased to meet you my fellow players!] its eyes twisted into one bigger than the other, it was like it was ready to pop out any moment. [I am sorry. I showed such an ugly part of me. Let me explain the rules of the game.] Its hands moved to the eyes and returned them to the way they were, turning back to the adorable fluffy thing Elianna saw at first.
[You are separated into five groups. The numbers are random do Don't expect that I give you details.]
"I don't believe one word from this mascot. Bring us your manager. If you want to use us for money, we need to have a contract. We also need to discuss the terms and policies. You cannot use us like this."
[I told you to be quiet and listen to me.]
Its eyes turned as red as the blood on the ground. Its mere presence turning into something wicked made the others step back in fear. The aura around it oppressed the others into submission. Elianna kneeled unable to endure the gravity that seemed to take a toll on her body. Emmanuel grabbed her arm to support her, unaffected by the odds.
All the eyes widened in terror as Jack's head burst open and the brain slid out. There was nothing left for the head besides the brain. The girls screamed but Elianna swallowed hard her growing fear. She remembered the warning to not offend the creature. It made all sense now; the creature could kill them any moment.
[This isn't a prank yall!]
Its eyes stared into Elianna's sending chills down her spine. [Be like that girl! She has been quiet. SO QUIET! My head will buzz with all your words but I can always listen to your screams.]
Blood sprayed into the air as another head burst, this time it was Maria's. The red liquid descended from her head filling her dress into layers of disheartening trust. It was impossible to not see such a sudden and unalarmed ending for the two. They died in the blink of an eye. Diana turned back and stared at Elianna who was still kneeling on the ground.
[It seems I got rid of two. Now, because of you, I have to summon others. Luckily we have a spare.]
The Hydra Grim clicked its fingers and ten people appeared. All strangers to Elianna, she didn't recognize any face. However, this made her doubts clear. She wasn't in the house she visited for the party. She was somewhere else completely aghast and horrifying.
The new presences didn't seem to notice where they were. They kept talking as if they weren't summoned a minute ago.
"I can't believe you actually did this. Don't you think it's a little bit cruel to prank her like this?" a feminine voice spoke.
The silhouette of a girl kneeling on the ground with her top shirt undone explained the whole situation to Elianna. They meant harm for the girl and they called it a prank. She looked at the creature. "Won't you pop some other heads?"
The Hydra Grim turned to Elianna smiling. [You could have said another wish. I don't want to ruin the fun. Our games are pretty fun, you see.]
All the heads turned to the creature. There were some who protested and some who realized they were in a different place. They were in a dark place previously and because of it, they didn't notice the change in surroundings in the beginning. Some of them screamed or went wild at the sight of the two bodies on the ground and the bloodbath that resulted from it. In the end, people didn't scream, they just stood there observing with terror. Emmanuel was surprised and held tightly on Elianna's shoulder who was hiccupping and had a hand pressed against her mouth.
[Before we begin, there are a few things I need to make sure you understand. You see, no one can change what happened and I am sorry that those two died this early, they could have been wonderful potential deaths in horrific ways.]
The creature talks about the two who died like it was nothing, uninterested and regretful because it killed them.
[Every decision you make, every action you take will open doors to the future. Be careful of what you choose. Every little behavior you chose to do will impact your life and the life of those around you. Now, for the first game we will be playing. Let me introduce the sacrifice game. Each one of you needs to survive an old school. If you survived, you can play the second game. If you don't, then we will be happy to have a cup of blood for a blood party.]
Elianna's phone buzzed again with another message.
{Whatever you do, Don't panic!}
