''Thanks, Jason" she said soon after starting the engine of her car before screaming off on a rare burst.
"Delia waait" his outcry was in vain as she cruised away from the scene.
He jumped into his Isuzu to follow her. He could not see any sign of her vehicle which prompted him to push the accelerator more and more. In an explosion of speed, he reached the Greylands turn off without any sign of her vehicle in sight. Exhaling at the top of his breath, he reached for his phone and tried to call her. Her phone was reachable but there was no reply on the other side. In a state of confusion, he got out of the vehicle to pee by the roadside.
"Damn, I messed it" he went on a monologue as he got back into the Isuzu before making a U-turn.
As he approached the construction site which was merely 15 km from the turnoff, a message popped onto his phone. Curiosity kills the cat, he hastily checked only to find out that it was Jilian.
