By the time dinner rolled around, Scarlett still hadn’t been able to think of a way to contact Black Moon and demand answers. She was certain this was the best next step, but it was still very much a half-baked idea, not a plan.
It was all the more likely that they would demand things from her instead. It was a dangerous game, and one she didn’t think she could win.
Besides, she would be one person going up against an organization. No one knew how many allies Black Moon truly had, and while Scarlett was their “heir,” her drugging and kidnapping said more than enough about how they might treat her.
She might just have to give in and tell Rowan before they both questioned Greta together. But Scarlett wanted to wait until she had a full story to explain to him. She wasn’t keen to just go and say, “Hey, so, your father killed my birth parents and I’m apparently the princess he didn’t manage to slaughter. Crazy, right?”
Yeah, no, she was not doing that.
