Kain looked slowly away, "I don't need a carer."
What did he mean? To kick me out? Susie looked up, but Kain was already gone.
Susie felt helpless. Even if Kain didn't need her, she had to stay in the castle. There was no way out.
Susie went back to her bedroom, and Heloise was sitting cross-legged on her bed.
Susie tensed immediately. "Miss Taylor, do you remember the deal between us?" Heloise stared at her with sharp eyes.
"Yes, Miss Ward. But I have no choice but to stay here. I swear I won't compete with you for Kain! I have no interest in Kain!" Susie explained.
Heloise still had a cold expression on her face, and her ice blue eyes stared at Susie, motionless, making Susie terrified.
Heloise's chuckle suddenly sounded in the dim room.
"Miss Taylor, you can stay by Kain's side." Heloise said in a charitable tone, "From now on, you will be responsible for taking care of Kain until the wound on his chest is completely healed."
