Chapter 24 - Dinning

Susie went back to the kitchen, put leftovers into the refrigerator, went to the living room and looked up. The door to Kain's bedroom was still closed.

She worried that Kain was mad at her because she just gave him a cold face. She had to do something to improve their relationship, otherwise her mission won't be complete.

Susie stayed in her bedroom all afternoon. After the sunset, she came to the kitchen and took a bag of red liquid from the refrigerator. It was the fresh human blood she had previously commissioned a courier to buy from the hospital.

Susie poured it into a glass, then took out a small bag of verbena powder she bought online. Verbena was said to be able to greatly inhibit the powers in vampires. She poured the powder into the blood and stirred it with a spoon, then took a deep breath and went upstairs with the tray.

The door opened automatically from the inside after Susie knocked three times. She entered. Kain was standing by the window, looking out.
