Chereads / Return of a Regressor / Chapter 11 - The Green God Pt.4

Chapter 11 - The Green God Pt.4

"...Would you like to join me for the First-Floor boss Raid?"

Before Angel could reply to Beau Solis, he was interrupted by the other guild leaders.

"Oi, oi, oi! Wait a minute Beau, don't you think you're a little late to be first?"

"That's right Liberation Wings Guild leader."

"We were here before you-"

"All of you, better shut your mouths..."

Ominous red mana started to leak out Beau Solis' body as he turned his head toward the other Players.

In response to his actions, all the S-Class in the surrounding area used their own mana to come back Solis's mana. Even So-Yung was doing the same.

The amount of strong mana coming from the S-Class was so intense it made the other lower-class Players frightened at the feeling and some couldn't even breathe from the intense pressure they were radiating.

The only one who didn't join in the parade was Angel, as he just looked at this whole situation with an annoyed expression on his face.

Hmm... She should be here right about now.

"Beau!!"

The voice of a woman yelling the name of Beau Solis rang out into the entire place.

At the call of his name, Beau flinched and stop his mana from flowing out of him. All the other S-Class also stopped their mana from coming out.

Finally.

"Dammit, she's back already?" Beau Solis looked at the women with an unfriendly gaze.

"Why is Marina Lloyd back?"

Before the S-Class Players could question the return of Marina Lloyd, she was already using her skill to fly herself down to our position.

Beau Solis looked around him as if he was trying to find a way to escape. Then something that shocked the S-Class happened. From the moment she landed, she reached out to Beau and pinched his ear with a painful squeeze as shown on Beau Solis' face.

At the unexpected punishment for Beau, the Players looked at them with dazed expressions.

Beau Solis, owning one of the most famous guilds internationally, was getting his ear pinched by America's Head Leader in the Player organization, Marina Lloyd.

It was like watching someone's older sister disciplining their younger brother.

The only one who was watching this whole thing like it was normal was Angel.

I guess people don't know about their background yet since Beau had tried his best to hide it so nobody could know that they are actually siblings.

Beau Solis and Marina Lloyd were from one of the richest families in America. Although both of them aren't actually blood-related. Marina's father left his daughter and wife, but soon after Marina's mother would soon remarry to a man who already had a son of his own, Beau Solis.

With this, Beau and his father entered a rich family. But Marina was always the one on top of the two throughout their lives. This made Beau envious and jealous of his sister's talents.

However, even with all that talent, Marina would still care for her brother.

Then the arrival of the Skyscraper Of Hell.

Both siblings were granted great abilities that could help humanity's path to freedom. But in the end, the older sister was granted a higher position than the younger brother, which just made him more envious.

At least that's what Marina herself told me...

A sudden memory flashed in my head as I thought more about it.

Damn, and here I thought I could just forget about those moments...

"So-Yung, get ready to leave."

"Hmm? Are you going to use that ski-"

Before So-Yung could finish what she was going to say, Angel had already used [Cloaking] on both of them, making them disappear as the Players all looked all surprised by it.

"Dammit, I wasn't able to get the both of them in."

"Why is it that they always leave?"

While the Players discuss the disappearance of Angel and So-Yung, Marina asked Beau a question with her hand still on his ear.

"Beau, what made you want to have those two Players on your side?"

Beau stared at Marina for a few seconds before responding.

"Do you know who 'Devil' is?"

"You mean the one who accepted that Last Trial quest?"

"Yes. I have a theory about who that person might be..."

"Hold on... Are you trying to say that Angel Nicolas is 'Devil'?"

"Maybe. Take off your hand."

Marina freed Beau, making him free again.

"All I'm saying is that if he is this 'Devil' one, then I might have to question him a little. Whether he really is on humanity's side or, may he be a Salvation Being."

"Salvation Being!" The moment Marina heard Salvation Being, she turned her head in the direction of where Angel was.

"Let's continue this conversation somewhere else."

Without any backtalk, Beau simply nodded and the both of them headed out of the place.

*

Inside a moving vehicle was the guild leader of Silver Lion and his assistant next to him.

Talon Barid had a frown on his face that looked like a child had just lost a fight.

"Sir?"

"Yes?" A bit of attitude was in Talon Baird's voice.

"How was your interaction with Player Angel Nicolas, and Player So So-Yung?"

"Hmph! I wasn't even able to have a proper interaction! All because of that Beau!"

"You mean the Libration Wings Leader interfered?"

"Uh-huh."

The assistant then stayed silent for a moment before asking.

"Do you still believe that Angel Nicolas might be that 'one'?"

"Of course. If I didn't, then I wouldn't have wasted my time there."

"Then did that increase the chance of your guess?"

"That... might be a little complex, but then again, who in the world would reject an offer from a High-Ranking guild?"

2030 August 15.

The day of the raid had finally come, and so did the first step toward a free world.

"Wow! Oppa, there are so many people here! It's even bigger than yesterday!" So-Yung looked at the huge crowd of Players with amazement.

There were hundreds of Players gathering in front of the gate of the tower, all wearing their combat attire. This also included Angel and So-Yung.

It's just as big as it was the first time.

Angel looked around as if he was trying to find something. But that something was the one to find him first.

"Angel Nicolas."

Angel turned his head to a familiar person.

"Ah. Ra Seo-Yun... How did the talk with Kok Jung-Jin go?"

Ra Seo-Yun was also wearing her combat attire, which had a similar design to Kok Jung-Jin. This made sense since she was also a magic user.

It also looks like she had three rings on her fingers. Those must be artifacts.

At the question, Ra Seo-Yun's face turned grim.

"It was awful... The first problem that occurred was that we both didn't know what those Americans were saying! The second was that Kok Jung-Jin was a total moron throughout the questioning! And third, Eeek!"

Ra Seo-Yun didn't continue, she was stopped by a pinch on the side by her battle-ready assistant.

"Ahem! Miss Seo-Yun, I think you've said enough by now."

"Oh! R-right I think I did say a little too much information. Anyway! Angel Nicolas, one of my members, would like to apologize to you."

"Apologize?"

Then, Kok Jung-Jin suddenly appeared to the side with his attire and also a few artifacts on him. He was looking at Angel with a sorry gaze.

Angel met the sorry gaze.

"Umm... I..."

"I don't think you have to apologize to me."

"Huh?" Kok Jung-Jin looked confused at the words.

"I mean, I wasn't hurt or anything, but instead it was the people that were spectating us."

"Oh."

"That's right. I shouldn't be the one receiving the apology."

"Right." Kok Jung-Jin just nodded at my words.

"Now that's out of the way..."

I turn my head to Ra Seo-Yun. She also looked at me.

"Ra Seo-Yun. We would like to join your group only for this one raid."

Then all three Ra Seo-Yun, the assistant, and Kok Jung-Jin eyes widen as big as they can at what Angel had said.

The words that came out of Angel's words even manage to make So-Yung eyes the same as the three.

~What?!

Ra Seo-Yun was the one to open her mouth first.

"D-D-Does that mean you and her will join Blizzard...??"

"Nope. I said only for this one raid."

A hint of disappointment then filled the eyes of the three.

But So-Yung eyes were filled with eyes of relief.

"Haah, I guess I shouldn't have had my hopes up."

"Well, it will still give our Guild a chance to recover from that day."

"That is true. Oh! Looks like it's time to go."

As the gates open the Players entered the tower and headed for the First-Floor Boss Domain.

It's time to meet our good green friend.

It is the same as before... The doors.

Right before me were the giant doors that lead to the arena of the first boss.

It has covered in moss and vines as if it was connected with nature itself.

"Alright everyone, listen up!"

The voice of Ra Seo-Yun could be heard talking to her guild members.

"Today will be a bit different from our usual raids."

Curiosity filled the members' faces.

"Today we have two new people that will join us in this raid."

Ra Seo-Yun pointed at me and So-Yung and, as a response, the faces of the members turn into shock and surprise.

"What?!!"

Then a sudden voice that didn't belong to the guild members resounded out.

I turned my head and spotted Ben Rainer along with other S-Class Players I saw on that day looking at us with different eyes.

"So we were too late..."

"Uhhh! And here I thought I could be the one!"

A faint smile emerged on Angel's face.

"The gates are opening!"

At the call, Angel, along with every single Player got ready for the battle with many having faces that looked like they were scared, some looked nervous, and many others that look anxious.

"So-Yung?"

"Yes, Oppa."

"Whatever happens in this will be the starting hope for us all."

"Hehe, I know that."

"Alright then..."

"Let's go."
