Chapter 79 - A fool to let her go

Alison covered her mouth with both hands. 

Her heartbeat picked up as she took in the scene before her. 

"I don't… I don't understand," She breathed. 

"Look around you," Zachary nodded at the hanging cards with a patient smile. 

With a hand that trembled slightly, Alison reached out for one. 

It was a photograph of her sleeping on Zachary's table, her head pillowed on her hands and a blanket over her shoulders 

Another photograph was her and Zachary grinning widely over boxes of take out. 

Alison smiled as she recalled that day. They hadn't really had much to discuss about Sienna and Damon, but they had met and ordered in dinner anyway.

They had ended up talking about their goals and their memories until the wee hours of the morning. 

The next one was a card and Alison instantly recognized Zachary's looping handwriting. 

'I love your drive. I love you.'

The breath left her lungs in a whoosh.
