Rudy smiled big and started laughing as he saw everyone's confused gaze. "I told you all already and you're still confused!??"
Rudy was amused that everyone could be so clueless and forget.
Christian was excited most of all. He told her to do whatever she wanted with her card and instead of buying something for herself, she decided to get everyone something.
She walked to everyone one by one making them open their gifts. Leah was first, she opened the the little bag and pulled out a beautiful rose bracelet. Leah's eyes beamed with happiness. Leah did not waste time and pulled Jeanohntae in a hug. Thank you Ms. Jean. You are so kind."
Jeanohntae smiled and moved on to Butler Lu. She handed him his bag and he pulled out a pocket watch. Butler Lu smiled widely. Jeanohntae took the pocket watch and turned it over revealing the engraved words. Butler Lu read the words and started to tear up. Jeanohntae thought she had done something wrong. "Butler Lu, are you okay."
Butler Lu smiled wiping his tears away. "Of course I am okay. These are tears of happiness. In all my career of working under different families, this family is the only ones who have ever given me such kindness and gifts. Thank you!" Jeanohntae smiled and hugged Butler Lu. "You're welcome."
Butler Lu was still tearing up. "A gift from Ms. Jean is a gift I'll treasure." Jeanohntae was please and she walked to Joseph. "And for you Uncle Joseph." She handed him his small bag and Joseph opened it excitedly. He pulled out a whiskey flask and his eyes lit up. "I've always wanted one, but never had time to personally pick out one. Oh thank you so much."
Joseph held onto the flask smiling when he felt something on the other side. He turned it over and it was also engraved. It read, "To Uncle Joseph. From Jeanohntae. Thank you for being an amazing uncle." Joseph chuckled and gave Jeanohntae a big hug and kissed her cheek.
Jeanohntae was delighted. She walked over to her father who was waiting patiently. "And for my dearest father." Jeanohntae handed him his bag and Rudy was calm but in the inside he was excited. He pulled out a custom made leather watch and with him and Jeanohntae's picture inside the glass. On the leather strap, it said "World's best dad." Underneath the watch, it said "I am proud to be your daughter."
Rudy couldn't maintain his calmness as he jumped up off his chair and hugged his beautiful daughter. "My sweet daughter. What have I done to deserve such a caring person like you!??" Jeanohntae was getting a little teary eye. "You have sacrificed so much to take care of me. So for that, you deserve the world." Rudy was still hugging Jeanohntae until he realized that she still needed to give Christian his gift.
After Rudy let go. The front door opened. "What's going on in here!??" Nikki asked with a smile. "Ms. Jean is giving everyone gifts." Butler Lu said. "So where is our gift then!??" Nellie asked in a demanding voice. Jeanohntae looked down in embarrassment. She totally forgot the two were also living there. "I'm sorry, I forgot to get you guys a gift. But I will get you guys something next time."
Nellie was annoyed and walked up the steps with Nicole following behind. "It's okay dear. Continue. Don't mind them." Joseph reassured her.
Jeanohntae did not mind and walked up to Christian with a smile. However, before Jeanohntae could hand him his bag. Christian stood up and threw Jeanohntae over his shoulder and started walking up the stairs. "Chris, let me go. You need to open your gift for everyone to see." Christian ignored her and continued walking up the stairs.
The four that was mesmerizing their gift, looked shocked to see Christian carrying Jeanohntae up the stairs without opening his gift. They really wanted to see.
When they reached the room, Christian set Jeanohntae down. "You kicked me out of my room, made me wait for you to give everyone their gift, and now you want me to open my gift for all to see." Jeanohntae looked at Christian with a sorry look on her face and she apologized.
Christian smiled and took the bag from Jeanohntae. "There's nothing to be sorry for. It just makes me more excited to open mine. No one is worthy to look at your gift for me." Christian slowly opened the bag and was thinking what it could be. He was excited but did not want to show it.
He pulled out a pair of gold cuff links with the letter J. Jeanohntae was nervous that he wouldn't like it. Christian's calmness slowly turned into a a big smile. He knew what the letter J was for. It was for Jeanohntae. He couldn't be anymore excited. He would be able to wear it everyday while it reminded him of her. He was happy that he was the last one to open his gift. It just made it all the more special to him.
Christian put the bag on the bed and lifted Jeanohntae in the air spinning her around making her giggle. "Does that mean you like it!??" Christian put Jeanohntae down. "Like it!?? Sweetheart I love it. It's the best gift I have ever received." He leaned in and gave Jeanohntae a sweet and passionate kiss.
Christian finally released them from their kiss. "I love you." Christian whispered in a low raspy voice. Jeanohntae smiled and sat on the bed. She knew she wanted to tell him she loved him, but she just couldn't bring herself to say it. 'He's said it twice already. I love him too. So why is it hard for me to say it back.'
Christian knew what she was thinking and he bent down to look at her. "I'm not forcing you." Jeanohntae looked up at his words. He continued. "You don't need to say it back. I'm saying it because it's true. I'm also saying it to remind you that I always will love you."
Jeanohntae smiled. "Thank you Chris." Christian stood up and walked to the door. "I'll have Leah bring your dinner. I'll be in the study if you need me."
"Okay." Jeanohntae said sweetly.
Jeanohntae was still happy sitting on the couch reading a book.
Leah knocked on the door and walked in with a big smile. "Here's your dinner Ms. Jean." Leah placed the tray of food on the table and opened the door to leave. She turned around and looked at Jeanohntae. "Thank you again for the gift Ms. Jean. You truly are a very kind soul."
After dinner, Jeanohntae got into her pajamas and prepared to sleep. She was dozing off when she felt the bed dip. She turned around and was met with Christian's smile. "I thought you were working late." Jeanohntae muttered falling asleep.
"It's okay. I can finish it tomorrow. You just relax and go to sleep." Christian rubbed the top of Jeanohntae's head. She quickly fell asleep.
