The next morning, Jeanohntae woke up with a splitting headache like she had a hangover.
Leah knocked on the door and entered. "Goodmorning Ms. Jean."
"Goodmorning Leah. Where is Christian!??" Jeanohntae asked looking at the empty bedside.
Leah smiled. "Mr. Christian is in the study. He specifically said to make sure you rest in bed. You gave him quite a scare lastnight. In fact, we were all worried about you."
Jeanohntae burried her in in the pillow. "I'm so sorry for causing such trouble lastnight."
Leah just smiled and walked over to the coffee table and placed down Jeanohntae's breakfast. "That's quite alright. Ms. Jean has gone through some scary events lately. No one blames you."
Jeanohntae slightly huffed. " In all honesty, I do believe that Nellie blamed me for waking everyone up."
Leah did not know how to respond to that. Although, Jeanohntae was not wrong. Nellie did seem awfully agitated when everyone woke up. "I believe the young madam was just a little upset for not receiving any present. I don't think it is something Ms. Jean should worry about."
Jeanohntae smiled and went to wash her face. Since Christian wanted her to relax, she did not bother to change into fancy clothes. She decided to stay in her pajamas.
After finishing breakfast, Jeanohntae laid in bed again scrolling on her phone. She came across a post on twitter about a book that was being released in the afternoon that day. Jeanohntae was very attentive when it came to books.
She noticed the book that was being released had a very strange title. Regardless of having a strange title, she really wanted to purchase that book, because the author was a very famous person that no one knew his real name. Only initials. C.J.S.
Jeanohntae really wanted that book. She hopped out of bed and skipped happily to Christian's office. She was thinking of walking straight in but decided against it because she did not know if he was in a conference video call or on the phone talking to a client. So she gently knocked before slowly opening the door to peak her head inside.
Christian looked up and saw Jeanohntae peaking in. He stopped tapping at his computer and gestured for Jeanohntae to enter. "What are you doing out of bed!??" You're supposed to be resting."
Jeanohntae looked down at her feet like a little child and apologized. Christian saw the cute little look she was giving and smiled. "That's alright. Is there something that you need!??"
Jeanohntae looked up at him and smiled. Christian was wondering what was going through her tiny brain. "Well, it's not something I need, but more like something I want. And I was wondering if we can go and get it."
Christian looked shocked to hear her say that she wanted something. He would usually need to convince her. So he was really interested in knowing what was so important that she was willing to ask for it. "Okay. What do you want to get!??" Christian asked curiously.
Jeanohntae opened her phone and showed him the post of a book being released. Christian's curiosity turned into confusion. 'She's really only asking for a book!??' He thought to himself.
Christian smiled when he saw Jeanohntae's excitement. "What's so interesting about a book that you want it so badly!??" Christian did not understand why she was getting excited over a small thing like a book.
Jeanohntae looked at the man in front her with complete disbelief. "What!?? This book was written by a famous author that no one knows his name. He has written so many great books that are all inside the library in this house. So how can you not know who he is!??"
Christian chuckled while Jeanohntae glared at him. "Sweetheart, let me explain okay. First of all, I know he is a famous author. Which is why I have all his books. Second, I know exactly who is. He always gives me his books. And third, I do know his name. He is a really good friend of mine."
Jeanohntae stood there speechless. Out of nowhere, she started jumping up and down like a little kid. "You really know who he is!??" She asked shaking his arm back and forth.
Christian started laughing. "Of course I know who he is. I just told you that we are actually really good friends. Whenever we meet up after his book is released, he always gives me a copy of it with his autograph. Which is why I never go to any of his book signings. He always comes to me."
Jeanohntae got even more excited. "You have to tell me his name please." Christian looked at Jeanohntae pleading and shook his head. "I'm sorry sweetheart but I can't. It's up to him if he wants to tell you his name."
Jeanohntae pouted at Christian but he still did not budge. "I'm sorry Jean, but I can't go around telling peoples' secrets. They trust me to keep this private. So I'm not gonna say anything. Even to you. I'm sorry."
Jeanohntae was shocked to hear him say that but at the same time. She admired him for keeping a secret and not telling anyone. Not even the girl he loves. She decided not to pester him about it anymore. "Okay then! Let's go get the book." Jeanohntae was dragging Christian out of the office.
"Don't you just want to wait till he gives me the book and then you can get it!?? Christian asked.
Jeanohntae turned around to look at him with a big smile. Seeing her beautiful smile. Christian's heart instantly melted and he became putty in Jeanohntae's hand. "I know you can wait for the book, but I can't. He is my all time favorite author. I would love to finally meet him. I use to have all his books before. But I never personally went to get because I was always busy with work so my father or Adrien would usually pick it up for me." Jeanohntae said as she continued to drag Christian.
When they reached down stairs. Rudy and Joseph were sitting on the couch talking. They looked up and saw Jeanohntae's happy face dragging Christian down the stairs.
"Where are the two of you going!??" Joseph asked curiously.
Jeanohntae smiled. "Uncle Joseph, Christian and I are going to a book signing."
Rudy looked at the expression on his daughter's face and realized who she was talking about. "Ahh. You're going to C.J.S book signing!??"
Jeanohntae's smile got even bigger. "Yes dad, I'm finally gonna meet him for the first time."
Rudy started laughing. "My dear, I am so glad that you're finally able to go out and buy his book in person. However, I don't think it'll be appropriate to meet your favorite author is your PJ's."
Jeanohntae looked down at herself and up at Christian, who had a smirk on his face. She smacked Christian and asked. "Chris, why didn't you tell me that I wasn't dressed!??" Christian raised both his hands and smiled. "I wanted to tell you but you kept dragging me down the stairs.
"I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere." Jeanohntae turned around and ran up the stairs. Christian looked at the running figure and shook his head laughing. Joseph turned to Christian and asked. "Son, doesn't he usually come over and give you a book personally, why are you gonna go out and get one!??"
Christian walked over to the sofa where the two men were sitting and sighed. "She insisted on going to get a book even though I already told her."
Rudy listened and started laughing. "Yup, that's Jeanohntae alright. She has always wanted to meet him. But she would always be busy and I would have to go and get it for her. Some times, she would come home with one of his new books and still look sad. Whenever I asked her if she had gone to get the book herself. She would always say that someone else went to get it for her while she was at work."
Christian looked over at Rudy. "Uncle Rudy, Jeanohntae said that you or Adrien would always get her the book because she was too busy to get it. I guess that's why it would explain why she has a book even though Neither you or her has gone to get it."
After their conversation, a few minutes later, Jeanohntae came running down the stairs. "I'm ready let's go."
Christian stood up and was about to leave when Rudy stopped them. "Jean, what's the name of the new book he wrote!??" Rudy was curious.
"Ooh, Let me look again." She pulled out her phone and looked for the name of the book. "The book is called 'Title Of The Book."
Rudy looked a little confused. "That's a strange name for a book title."
Jeanohntae smiled at her father. "You're absolutely right, but whether the book has a strange name or not, I know it'll be very interesting. We're gonna get going now before we're late. See you guys later."
"Okay, see you guys soon. have fun." Joseph waved goodbye.
