Orion grabbed a pad of paper and pen that was on the table. He frowned taking another drink of water and then he went to write on the paper. He figured he could try writing it. The moment he did his hand shook violently and all the muscles tensed and cramped in his arm. He felt a prickle down his spine and let out a slow rush of air staring at the paper annoyed.
"Awake a bit sooner than I meant. I placed you somewhere you'd be lost for a bit." He looked up and on the other side of the kitchen was his mother. She needed to leave him alone, she always showed up every time he woke, but it wasn't like she could do anything.
"Leave me alone Nyx." He said to her and she stood silently for a moment. Her black eyes studying him and her jet black hair looked nearly blue in this light. She watched him as he tried to write again and failed. She also saw the blood on the towel and inhaled her eyes narrowed.
"Is this one savage? You have not been awake long and already you bleed." Nyx did not sense much in the place. No magic, no other creatures with this one. So how did this one find him?
"No, she commanded to know how I am set free. I couldn't speak. It felt like razors were in my throat, nor can I write." They were speaking a different language at the moment and he dropped the pen. This was bizarre, and troublesome to him.
"You can't speak it?" She looked slightly confused as he did, he shook his head. They both heard the door to the bathroom open and looked that way.
"Be gone Nyx, you have interfered enough and caused me more strife." He didn't care if she was his mother, nor that she wanted to help him. She'd done more harm than good in the past. He didn't look back at her but moved toward the fridge. Nyx raised an eyebrow, and had a very dark smile that looked almost unkind as she disappeared. Kora came around the corner and looked at him.
"Who were you talking to? I heard voices."
"Myself." He commented, and while he normally didn't lie, he really didn't feel like talking about Nyx. She was a powerful goddess. Kora also didn't demand he tell the truth, and to him talking with Nyx felt like he was talking to himself. So he didn't feel pain for bending the rule of lying.
"Huh." She commented and then moved into the living room, and sound came from it. She had turned on the TV. He was starving he found, and stood in her kitchen and ate her food. If she was going to allow it he'd take it and eat, before she changed her mind. After he finished a good amount of food he moved into the living room and she was sitting on the couch there. He stood behind it looking at the TV and the show that was on it. Looked like a crime show or something. He just stood there watching it, because he didn't have anything else to do until she told him to do something.
"Stop standing there all creepy, sit down." She told him.
"Is that a command?" He asked dryly.
"No, but stop creeping. If you don't want to watch go do something else. You are making me uneasy standing back there." She grumbled and he just continued to stand there for a moment and then moved around and sat down. He sat down rather rigid. This was really strange for him, he really didn't know what to do about this if she wasn't really going to command something of him. By now he'd have already killed someone or taken something from somewhere. Helped them climb in status or power, gain money. She was having him sit on a couch and just watch TV.
"I don't get this." He commented.
"Then don't watch." She responded tucking her feet more under her and not looking at him. He looked back at the TV.
"Is this really what you do?" He asked.
"Yes, now unless you want to argue again or something dumb be quiet. I am trying to pretend this crazy ship didn't sail into my life right now. I'm hoping when I finish binge watching this you won't be there and if you are, by the time I wake up tomorrow then you will be gone."
"Then you will be disappointed." She looked at him then and they just stared at each other for a moment from either side of the couch.
"Maybe I'll just command you gone." She said and he shrugged.
"It doesn't work like that either. I would have to come back after a certain amount of time. You would also be compelled to call me back. You are at three commands by the way." She looked back at the Tv.
"I'll give you a freaking command." She mumbled something completely inaudible.
"What is that?" She let out a rush of air.
"Nothing, I'm not giving you a command. I'm not interested in commanding others. I work at a resale shop. Clearly I wasn't looking to be some pretentious jerk in high society. So please stop talking, I just want to watch this." She was back in the show and he just sat there. How long was this going to be? If she didn't do anything to break one of the rules set for her, and she didn't actually intend to use him… this was going to be really fucking boring, dull and…
He paused in the anger of his thoughts. Well maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Maybe he was getting what he'd been asking for. Then again he didn't believe in miracles or getting anything for himself. He'd tried to change his ways and look where that fucking got him. Whatever, things would change, they always did. So he looked back at the TV and watched the show.
