Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

Later, when Vivaan left, Nolan stayed where he was and Vivaan's words echoed in his mind. Shyla had almost been dead. Why did he say that? Nolan didn't understand.

He may not remember anything, but his heart could recognize everything, so, he felt an inexplicable pain in his heart as if he had experienced it before.

Ekta was very nervous. Seeing Nolan's flustered look, she immediately went up to ask him. "Nolan, are you okay? Are you not feeling well? Shall I call a doctor to come and see you?"

Nolan came to his senses and said, "There is no need, I'm fine."

However, Nolan was in a bad mood. He was extremely irritated after hearing Vivaan's words.

"You are injured. Let the doctor take care of the wounds for you."

"I'm okay. Let's go back." could care less about the injuries on his face. He quickly took care of Ekta's discharge formalities and sent her home.

He was still worried about Shyla's whereabouts. At least, he and Shyla hadn't divorced yet, so he still needed to find some time to complete the formalities of the divorce with her. Nolan looked for an excuse to console himself and concluded that the worry came from Shyla's possible absence from the divorce.

Seeing that Nolan was absent-minded, Ekta had a sense of insecurity as he wanted to leave quickly. Ekta could not help but ask solemnly, "Are you going to look for Shyla? Didn't we agree not to bother with her? Why are you still looking for her ?".

Ekta was not satisfied. She had done so much but she could not divert all of Nolan's attention back to her. Even though Nolan may not know his true feelings, Ekta knew them very well... So, she was carrying this uneasy feeling whenever he was with Shyla.

"She's pregnant and has no one to rely on. I'm afraid that something might happen to her. Once we are divorced and I can settle her down, I won't see her again." Nolan tried to comfort Ekta. He had promised Shyla's father to take good care of Shyla. He could not break his promise.

Ekta's tears were about to flow out. All she wanted was Nolan to treat her well with all his heart, yet he still wanted to look for Shyla. Ekta couldn't voice out her reluctance, so she could only grit her teeth and say, "I'll wait for you. You must come back at night."

After Nolan left the room, her eyes filled with a murderous look, And, in her heart, he was cursing Shyla, and, swearing to herself that she could get rid of her and her baby as soon as possible.

Nolan promised her and left quickly. He intended to go home and see if Shyla was there.

When he arrived home, the house was empty as if nobody had been there for a long time. It was cold and empty without any trace of Shyla. However, he found the divorce agreement that Shyla left on the table.

The beautiful handwriting on it indicated that Shyla had agreed to the divorce. Nolan frowned, he could believe Shyla would agree to divorce. However, he didn't get any relief. Instead, it added a heavyweight to him.

Nolan quickly called Shyla, but the phone was turned off. Nolan then called Ruhi, and she answered by calling Nolan a scum on the phone. She cried with agony while scolding him, as she had no idea where Shyla went.

Was their marriage going to end like this? Nolan didn't expect the marriage to have ended that way. They had agreed to a divorce ten months later but it was merely more than a month later that their five-year marriage came to an end. He felt pressure in his heart.

Nolan sat in his room and pondered for a long time, and he was distressed. "Where can a pregnant lady go? How will she be able to survive after that?"

Thinking that Shyla had no one to rely on and that she left everything behind, Nolan couldn't find it in himself to be ruthless, even though he didn't love Shyla. Nolan immediately got up and drove outside to find her.

It was raining and there were many cars on the road. Nolan drove very slowly, afraid that he would miss out on Shyla. Flustered, he searched nervously. After a long time, Nolan was a little irritated and he started to hit the steering wheel anxiously.

All of a sudden, he saw a woman with an umbrella who looked like Shyla on the street. He stopped his car and rushed out, grabbing the woman like a reckless young man, and shouted, "Shyla!"

The woman turned her head, but she was not Shyla. Instead, she accused him of being crazy.

He tried his best. He wanted to get Shyla back, but Shyla had already left and disappeared from his life.

Nolan lost his wits and went home soaked. Sitting silently and motionlessly, he recalled that he refused to come back home in the past because he was unhappy and disgusted to see Shyla constantly. However, when there was no longer Shyla, the air seemed lifeless and that was not what he wanted either.

The lights were not turned on for the night... Leaning against the sofa with his head down, Nolan remained motionless to numb himself from thinking about Shyla's current situation.

The phone rang and it was from Ekta. Nolan didn't want to pick up, because he was confused about his feelings. He clearly loved Ekta, but he still had sympathy for Shyla and this was completely unlike him. In the end, he decided not to pick up the phone to avoid being questioned by Ekta. He didn't want to see her either. but his phone was kept on ringing.

After sitting for a long time, Nolan started to have a fever. His throat was dry and he felt extremely uncomfortable. He fell asleep on the sofa and his condition became worse.

The door suddenly opened, and the jingling sound of the keys was heard. Light footsteps headed toward Nolan.

Nolan opened his eyes dizzily. He thought that it was his illusion to have seen Shyla.
