Chapter 33 - Not wanting to get lost.

"Let me join the dungeon expedition you guys would do."

Hearing Logan's request, Pan looked back at the ocean. They were indeed about to go to a dungeon. It was her training to experience how to deal with many monsters for the first time. But Elincia never mentioned that it was allowed for a human to join their party.

'Should I ask for El's permission first?'

Vanya was worried about something, which was the high possibility that her true identity would be exposed if she was careless and accidentally lost the disguise skill her father had attached to her.

Few people knew about her whereabouts other than her own race, including that she was the only heir to the Vensalor Kingdom. Vanya was an important person who would ensure the prosperity of the elves in the future.

"Why don't you go with a human party?"

"Actually, I can, but I don't have time to climb the ranks and do it from scratch with a small team."

Vanya bit her lip and lowered her head. She didn't want to refuse Logan's request for all he had done today. Vanya tried to examine the most significant risk if her identity was known to the young man.

The most worrying thing was the existence of other elves who would accompany her later. If something unwanted happened, the other elves might take his life. Vanya didn't want to imagine that. She didn't have enough power at the moment to prevent all of that from happening.

"What kind of time are you talking about?"

"I don't know, I just think something is not going as it should."

"Can you tell me in more detail?"

"There was a kingdom envoy that took powerful people from this city to the capital."

If capital wanted its most significant power to gather in one place, something big was about to happen. The same thing the elves would do if they were to wage a major war. Immediately, Vanya felt the horror in her.

"For what reasons?"

"They told us that there will be some war soon."

Logan's answer immediately reminded Vanya of her reason for being allowed to come to the human world. Her father said something might happen, something that didn't go the way it should. If the thing her father meant was urgent, even this time, Vanya couldn't imagine the worst they might have to face.

"Sorry if I brought my troubles onto you."

Vanya shook her head, looking at Logan with a face that now looked worried.

"Actually, Beris has been our companion for quite a while. Your problem should be our problem too."

Vanya recalled the order that came from Vensalor, which also asked her to come back sooner than planned.

Zoron said she could be in this place for at least two weeks. However, if something big was really going to happen, she should have been asked to return immediately. Or was it really not as bad as what Logan said?

Elincia would be in this place during Vanya's dungeon expedition. Elincia's power alone was strong enough to compare to the most incredible power of this kingdom. Maybe Vanya needn't worry too much.

"If something big happens, I'm sure our people might help Beris too…."

Logan was about to refute Pan's words but held himself back.

Something Logan clearly knew was that the elves' coming destruction would be thanks to their ignorance of what happened to the Beris Kingdom.

The elves tried not to interfere in the minor war that would happen in this kingdom with the excuse of not wanting to draw a bigger war. But it ended in their race's destruction because they underestimated what was going on.

The war that would have destroyed the Beris Kingdom was the demon lord's attempt to establish a Demon Domain in this area. With the establishment of the Demon Domain, it became easier for them to build strength and attack The Island of Elves. The extinction of their race occurred not long after that.

"Is there something wrong with what I said?"

"No, you were right. We should be working together. Since we should have a common enemy."

Vanya smiled at Logan's answer. An answer she wanted to hear from humans.

Ever since the last big war that took the lives of many elves and humans, it ended with a peace treaty. But that only appears on the outside. Every strongest country keeps trying to be strong by always ensuring the balance of the other powers.

Vanya felt that the enemies they had to face were indeed the Demons who clearly wanted to take over the western continent. At least that's what she heard from the Generals that were often battling in the Demon Continent.

Vanya felt happy when she met someone who ultimately shared her thoughts.

"So, is it possible?"

Vanya nodded her head, showing a relieved smile on her face.

"I'll try my best, but there is a condition."

"Tell me..."

"Promise me you will keep a secret from everything that might happen in the dungeon."

"You can count on me."

Hearing Logan's conclusive answer didn't really give her too much assurance, but it was enough to at least provide her with confidence in her decision to include the young man with them.

Vanya stood up, looked at the ocean, raised her hands.

"Woahhh, I really like it."

Logan also stood up, looked in the same direction as the girl, then turned to walk.

"Let's go..."

Vanya immediately turned to follow in Logan's footsteps.

"Where… are you going?"

"I need to prepare for tomorrow."

"Can I come with you?"

Logan stopped and looked at Vanya.

"Actually, I want to buy some food, clothes, and sleep at home. Do you really want to go with me?"

She still wanted to have fun, but it seemed her time was running out.

"You are so mean…."

"Come on..."

Vanya ran and grabbed Logan's arm, embracing his hand. Vanya used to do this to her father, and this time she was doing it unconsciously to someone she had just met.

Vanya was about to let go of her hand, but Logan didn't seem to mind. Then she kept her arm around Logan, not wanting to get lost in this new and unfamiliar place.
