Logan held Pan's hand throughout the Deadbay city street. Occasionally stopping when the girl looked amazed by the ordinary building on the side of the road.
Pan's snow-white face glowed brightly in the early morning sun. The passers-by never missed a chance to peek at the girl. Some even deliberately followed.
Logan tugged at the girl's scarf and wrapped it around her neck, covering most of Pan's face. Then smiled as the girl fell silent, confused about what he was doing.
"I'm sorry if you don't mind being the center of attention."
Pan immediately understood what Logan meant, nodded, and walked back to follow where the young man had gone.
"Come Logan…"
Pan grabbed Logan's hand while she was at the small merchant center. She approached a stand selling accessories made of shells. Pan lifted the bracelet in her hand, deliberately exposing it to the sun, which was now hanging and glistening, instantly causing the girl's eyes to widen.
"Wow… How beautiful…"
"Isn't there something prettier where you live?"
Pan turned to Logan, shaking her head.
"I know, but something like this can't be found at my place."
Logan smiled, then took the same bracelet and placed it in his hand. Not too bad either, he thought.
"You want to have it?"
Pan nodded her head for a moment, then fell silent, looking thoughtful.
"You don't have human currency for exchange?"
Pan nodded her head again. Then hastily put the bracelet back down, turned around, and walked away.
Logan smiled, then paid for the two bracelets in his hands. Chasing where Pan was going. He grabbed the girl's left wrist.
Logan put the bracelet on Pan. There didn't seem to be any resistance from the girl, who went silent. She was watching the object that was now wrapped around her wrist.
"You can pay next time."
"Can I?"
"Yes, no need to worry about it."
Logan chuckled at the girl's innocence. He didn't expect Elincia to deliberately let this girl go without even giving her basic knowledge of the human world. She didn't even have money.
Elves are not really interested in human currency. They have their own way of living their lives in their place. However, some elves who travel out still have money for exchange as gold and the like. They often have to buy goods they cannot produce themselves from the outside world, including when they came to this city.
Vensalor was an independent kingdom. They had everything they needed to live and be strong. Healer? They have classes with potent healing powers. Blacksmith? They also have their own talent that can be relied on.
The elves opened up only after the last great war in this world ended. When the great powers in the world only have three parties left. Alliances were formed with the aim of fighting a more significant threat outside the continent, namely the danger of the demon lord.
They went back around. Logan took Pan to a stand that sold ice cream. Bought two cups and gave them to the girl. Logan clearly knew which objects couldn't be found on the Island of Elf and what things were engaging in this place.
Pan noticed a white object with a sprinkling of red syrup in her hand. Then saw the way Logan licked it and imitated it. Instantly, Pan's eyes opened wide and returned to his eager face.
"What is this?"
"Ice cream."
"I like…"
Logan frowned when he found something stuck to Pan's nose and grabbed it with his finger.
Pan was dumbfounded at Logan's behavior while ensuring she had nothing left on her nose.
'Is he really this gentle with women? Or are all humans like that?'
"Is there something else you want to try?"
Logan's question snapped Pan out of her thoughts. Then returned to licking the ice cream she was holding and nodded her head.
"Can you show me something interesting?"
Logan thought for a moment about something interesting, then answered. "Something interesting for me is… hunting."
Pan couldn't hold back her laughter for a moment, covered her lips, and looked down. Even though she tried to hold it in, her soft giggles still sounded soft and instantly made Logan smile.
"You train very diligently, yes?"
"Not really. I just want to be strong. Strong enough to protect what matters to me."
Pan fell silent hearing Logan's answer, then walked back to follow where the young man was walking. Pan quickened her stride to keep up with Logan's walking speed.
"Do you have something in mind to do while we are waiting for our first dungeon?"
Logan stopped again in front of a food stand. A few sausage skewers with the spicy sauce were grilled, giving off a fragrant aroma. This was the first time Logan had enjoyed all the food in this place, so it wouldn't hurt to try everything he could only imagine before, right?
Logan took a few skewers of sausage and offered them to Pan.
The girl immediately took another strange object that Logan offered, following how the young man ate it. Suddenly stopped, bit her tongue, and looked down.
"Ouch… Spicy…"
Logan laughed at Pan's behavior, just as he thought most elves didn't like spicy food. Logan took the water bottle that was in his inventory and offered it to the girl.
"Come, follow me."
Logan again asked Pan to follow him, walking quite a distance until he reached the city gates. Eliza returned to her feet, guarding the place. Winking her eyes as Logan approached.
"You got nothing else to do, Eliza?"
"I can do some service for you if you would like."
The woman replied to Logan's question by licking her lips. Then immediately opened the gate and allowed the two people to step out of the city.
Logan led Pan for a walk not too far from the city walls, a place that led to a cliff overlooking the ocean. There was a field filled with flowers of various colors that grew as high as the waist of an adult human.
Pan immediately opened her eyes wide and her mouth, showing an expression of admiration. The girl then ran among the flowers, smiling, showing her pearly white teeth. Smelling the surrounding flowers, closing her eyes showed how much she liked what she was finding this time.
"Do you like it?"
Pan nodded her head and pulled Logan with her. Running among the flowers in the field. Laughing and smiling, jogging by jumping repeatedly.
"Let's go there."
Logan pointed to a cliff overlooking the sea. He understood clearly that the elves lived in a decent place. But they rarely see the ocean directly, especially those who had just stepped out of their world.
Pan nodded, following where Logan was going, still hand in hand through the sea of flowers.
They walked until they reached the cliff's edge, then sat side by side facing the open sea. Pan's blonde hair was waving from the sea breeze.
"Logan…"
Logan turned his head when the girl called his name. Logan was getting used to Pan's soft voice that he'd been hearing all day every time he found something new in this place.
"Thanks for today."
"No worry, because you need to pay me something."
Pan tilted her head for a moment, still facing Logan.
"What… do you want?"
