Zheng didn't speak for a moment, rolling himself towards me.
"Won't you turn around to look at me?" he murmured. Taking a deep breath, I turned my back to the entrance.
Zheng's eyes were shining as he looked up at me. He looked so much more exhausted now that we were alone. Unable to help it, I kneeled before him, taking his hand to comfort him.
"I thought you were going to die." The pain in his voice made me hurt.
"Thank you for saving me, Zheng'er. I... I owe you too much," I whispered. The man stared at my bandaged hands in his, shaking his head.
"You've lost so much weight," he whispered. I stared up at his haggard face, heart aching.
"You've lost weight too, Sire. Please don't work too hard. Your family will be worried..." I trailed off, pulling myself away as my words reminded me that I shouldn't do something like this.
Zheng didn't answer to that comment, his eyes scrutinising my face. I watched him for a while too, drinking in the sight of him.
