[Evelyn's angle]
I had never thought that I would run into Liam as soon as I arrived at the bakery.
"Morning, Evelyn." He closed the book in his hand and smiled at me.
I stared into his eyes and took a step back subconsciously. The dream was still vivid, and it made me fear him.
He probably sensed my repulsion and didn't move from the doorway. His smile faded a little.
"Evelyn?"
I shook my head, throwing out the unrealistic thoughts in my head.
"Morning, Liam." I didn't dare look at him. I lowered my head and opened the bakery's door.
"Why are you here so early?"
"I wanted to see you, so I came over."
Even though I couldn't see Liam's expression, I could only imagine how gentle he must be at the moment by the sound of his voice. But then, his cold expression in the nightmare came to my mind at the same time. I couldn't help but walk faster to put some distance between us.
