Chapter 21 - Consequences

Returning from my body I begin to get memories of what Blaze did in class, I did sometimes check what he did but I was busy training melee combat and didn't and didn't want to disturb him. When I got his memories I also got to feel everything he felt and I was surprised to find out that he cared for me much more than I thought, but I also found out how sad he was being stuck with no one he knows, and everyone he has ever cared for gone...

Now that we finished practicals we had to meet the 'worst teacher' they called him that because of his brutal training and his cold personality. I was quite afraid that if I spent my time lazying around I would suffer for the rest of the semester.

I got mentally prepared and entered the class, sat down at my usual seat, and waited for class to start.

Soon the teacher came in he had the 'don't mess with me' face, and as everybody knew the rumors nobody talked, they didn't want to make a bad impression, me included.

"Hello class, my name is Martyn Kearney" he introduced himself coldly. He was a retired hunter but he's considered a legend as he is known as a Jack of all trades, he knows how to control all weapons, now he's the practical class instructor, also considered the best teacher with the worst personality.

'Don't worry if you stay quiet there is only a 2% chance he'll call you I mean there are 49 other students to choose from, so don't stress, and even if he does choose you if you impress him you'll probably learn something from him, which is still a win, plus who said he'll be asking people up right now? It's the first class, it's rare for what you're thinking to happen' Blaze was right I didn't need to worry I mean even if he chooses me I'll just show him I'm worth teaching.

"Firstly we'll head out to the training area because I want to see your skills. Do you understand?"

"Yes," most of the class responded in unison.

"Well, let's head out," We started to walk to the training rooms, although class started in a class the teacher Martyn informed us that we'll rarely use the class and to gather at the arena before class instead.

"Now that we're at the arena we'll begin organizing. I want support classes there, melee classes there, ranged classes there, and mage classes there" Everybody started to organize in groups. I went over to the melee area as I thought of myself as melee even though I could also be considered as a ranged class. While glancing at the teacher I noticed him writing some things down.

"Alright, I want to see your group up now! A group should consist of two ranged, one support, two melees, and one mage, no more no less," Instantly people started forming groups with their friends, while others just stood there awkwardly, I was one of them.

'God damn it Oscar are you afraid? If you're afraid of asking then why the fuck did you decide to join this academy? Go and ask! They don't need to accept, but just asking isn't going to hurt,' He was right although I could be considered an extrovert, I was still awkward with this class as I didn't want to mess anything up and become a laughing stock, but Blaze was right there was nothing wrong with asking, so I took a deep breath and began asking around.

3 Minutes later...

Most people already had full teams, and while my team was missing support, we were asking the support classes if they wanted to join, but most had a team, luckily we managed to find a short-haired brunette, who was shy and innocent-looking. She joined our team and as the teacher instructor earlier we gathered at one spot.

There were seven teams while there were others who had an incomplete team. Most of them were worried that the teacher would shout at them, but he was understanding and told them to wait until he finishes with the complete teams.

"Those with complete teams will be tested, by me. These teams will be your comrades, for the rest of the semester. When we finish the test I'll tell you what you're missing and you'll get balanced by some people who don't have a team, after this test, classes will consist of teamwork and training."

"Today's test will be fighting me, your teams are considered basic raiding teams for dungeons, I will be a boss monster and you'll try to raid me. You don't have to defeat me what you have to do is fight me with all you got," everybody calmed down after hearing that, most teams weren't the strongest, and even I wasn't confident that we would be able to even touch him.

"Team 1! You have ten minutes to form a strategy, pick captains, and similar stuff, when you're done the fight will begin," Instantly Team 1 started panicking but was calmed down by one of their teammates, who took the role of captain and started explaining his plan to the rest, it wasn't the best plan, but it was a plan none the less.

The other teams recovered quickly and began picking captains and planning their own strategies, I also didn't want to waste time and started talking with my teammates. We already introduced ourselves and talked with each other a bit.

"Okay, we need to pick a captain, while I'm confident in my leadership abilities, there may be a better choice than me, so is there anyone who is confident in being a captain?" I asked, while yes I wasn't the best fit to be a captain, I had the next best thing, Blaze, he most likely knew how to lead a team because he always instructed me what to do when I was training with him.

"I think a ranged user should be captain because they have a wide view and don't have to worry about defending attacks and can also notice things from afar, like opening and stuff like that," The other melee guy suggested, his name was Ethan Reese, he was a moderately-handsome lad with big muscles, and was pretty chill to hang out with, although he was born rich and with a golden spoon, he wasn't arrogant.

"I do agree with Ethan we should pick a ranger, although I prefer it not being me, although I can analyze and detect I really am not confident in leading anyone, I need to focus on casting spells and can't really give commands," The mage spoke up, she was Leja Ramsay, she was a bit arrogant but understood her own limits, she was also a disciple of a B-Rank hunter and she wasn't happy with the teams' layout as she wanted to be paired up with stronger people.

Before we could continue discussing we heard a massive explosion at the main building of the school and sirens started beeping, the teacher instantly started emitting pressure that suffocated the class but soon calmed down and started evacuating us.

We were confused as to what was happening, but we still followed our teacher's orders and went to hide, as we were evacuating we got intercepted by a couple of hooded individuals.

"We got some prey boys!" one of the hooded individuals shouted, he seemed quite crazed.

"Shit, everyone get ready to fight with your lives on the line, don't attack just defend," The teacher shouted as everybody heard it they started panicking, but some students went up and calmed everyone down with a short speech and most got ready to fight, most were still shaking, some thought it was just a test, but others understood that it wasn't, and got as mentally prepared as they could.

What Oscar didn't know was that today was cosmic rebalancing for changing the fate of his mother and that many people would die today.

The butterfly flapped its wings and caused a typhoon.

We already knew this will happen, but damn I didn't think that it would be this big.

We should have stopped them when we had the chance, but now we have to hope that those individuals survive.
