Nix stared at the two women sleeping inside his office bed.
"What happened?" he asked the man who just got out of the bathroom.
"Alyana texted me earlier if I can go and fetch them. When I arrived at the destination, it was a bar. She told me she needed me so we both went inside. Someone tried to harass them so she gave him a superkick. Oh bro, if you could just see how she did that you would be amazed at her. After that we quickly went outside that place. I was planning to take them home but I noticed that someone was after us so you know, I tried some moves from action movies I've watched." Zach smirked after telling him the story.
"Idiot, are you saying that she saw you holding a gun?" Nix asked with a dark face.
"Yes," Zach straightly answered and poured some wine in the glass. "She even held it herself," he added and was about to drink the wine when a sharp object flew into the wine glass which caused it to break and the liquid to cover him. "What the—?" he said and looked at Nix who was intently looking at him.
"You let her hold a gun?" he asked.
Zach closed his eyes and cleared his throat. "Well, it was because of the situation. It happened that the gun was at the back and I can't just stop the car to go and get it so I told her to get it for me."
"You shouldn't just let a woman hold such a thing."
"I know, don't be mad bro. They are safe now, thanks to handsome me," Zach replied.
"Who's that guy?" Nix asked, pertaining to the guy who tried to harass them.
"Davidson Brooklyn, he was currently managing a local auto parts store not far from that bar." Zach smirked and poured wine into another glass again, ignoring the dirt in his shirt.
"Make sure to get his eye. How dare he look at my woman," Nix said, whispering the last words.
"Leave it to me," Zach said, but then look at Nix. "What's the plan? I thought you'll need me and Jet on something," he added.
Nix crossed his arms and sighed.
"Dad will arrive tomorrow. He will hold a party for Sarah's achievements this year together with her father. I need you there, you know him. Take that woman away from me, I would let that old man know who's the real boss."
Zach can't help but to laugh at him. He looks like every person near them was his enemy.
"I will do that, but what about Jet?" he asked.
"I need him to focus on one target."
Nix stood up after saying that. He looked at the two women one more time and took his phone to call for a lady who could change their clothes.
"Oh, by the way. Why are you still here?" Zach asked him. Nix smirked, and closed his eyes.
"Preparing."
Because of his answer, Zach already knew what he was talking about. They already faced many things, and he can easily read Nix.
He stood up, yawning. "So, I think I need to go home now. Ah, your woman just ruined my beautiful night but it was worth it though," he said.
"Go."
Nix waited for him to leave first before closing the curtains on the room. He then looked at Alyana who was currently in a deep sleep. Seeing her calm face makes him calm too. He can't afford to lose her. He waited for a few minutes until the old lady he asked for arrived. He sat in his office chair while waiting for her to be done changing their clothes. He already told her to buy some for them.
"It's done, Prince Nix," The old lady said, bowing her head. Nix nodded at her, smiling. The old lady in front of him was the lady who he treated like a mother since he was a child. It was the maid who took care of him. And she also knew Alyana very well. He grew up without his mother by his side, and according to his father she was already dead. However, he can't trust his every word. He knew his mother was alive, but he doesn't know who she is or where he can find her. And the old lady was the one who stood up as his mother.
"Thanks, Manang Sol. You can rest now," he said.
"You should rest now too, Prince Nix. It's already time."
"Yes, Manang."
The old lady smiled at him first before leaving the building.
Nix held his pen and took some papers on his table. He decided not to sleep and take a look at the two women inside his office the whole time, like what he did when Alyana slept in his condo. He tried to act like he was sleeping the moment she woke up.
"Hey, brotha. You are here, what are you doing?" Kaye walks out of the room and looks at him. He didn't notice the time, it's already morning. "Oh, did I bother you last night? I thought I slept there in the bar," she said and laughed. "What? Did I really disturb you last night?" she asked Nix, who was currently glaring at her.
"Can't remember what you did huh?" he asked. Kaye smiled at him and shook her head.
"Did you see the woman beside you?" he asked. Kaye's eyes widened and ran back in the room, just to see Alyana who was still sleeping.
"Oh my gosh, I called her? I'm already drunk, I didn't notice that I called someone," she said while holding her forehead. "Did I bother her that much?"
"Just ask her."
"Hmp."
Kaye went to the bathroom first before going back to the bed where Alyana was lying.
"Hey, girl." She called her but there was no response at all, so she decided to go to Nix again. "Brotha, is there any food here? I'm hungry."
"It will arrive soon." Nix replied. Kaye smiled at him and went on his back.
"Oh, let me guess. You didn't sleep right? I'm scared I bothered my brotha that much," Kaye said and started massaging his back. Nix just ignores her and continues what he was doing.
A few minutes later, the door opened wide. They both looked at it and saw a woman with her thick makeup raising her eyebrows the moment she saw their position.
"Who are you?" Sarah asked.
Kaye's eyes narrowed while looking at the woman in front of her.
"I am the one who should be asking that, who are you? If you just got here by mistake, you can get out of our faces now."
Kaye walked and stood beside Nix, however Sarah walked near her too but stopped when Kaye blocked her way using her hands.
"Oops, remain in that position. Nix just got this building cleaned last night. And dirt was already visiting him."
"How dare you talk to me like that? Nix, tell this woman who I am!" Sarah exclaimed out of anger.
Nix stood up, making Sarah smile. However, he just ignored her and went inside the room where Alyana was sleeping.
Kaye laughed because of what he did.
"See? Nix doesn't even know you, because if he did he would definitely tell me." Kaye told her. Sarah glared at her and took the wine glass on Nix's table. "So common, don't tell me you'll pour that wine to me? Gosh." Kaye rolled her eyes at her. Sarah's face turned red, an indication that she was totally irritated by the woman Infront of her.
"Don't you know me? I am Nix's fiance!" Sarah said. Kaye raised her eyebrows and looked at her from head to toe.
"You? No wonder he looks so pissed seeing you here," Kaye replied.
"How dare you?!" She was about to grab Kaye's hair when she pushed her first.
"And you know who I am?" Kaye said, walking slowly towards her.
"You are just a nobody," Sarah said, making Kaye smirk.
"Really?"
"Yes, I'm sure of that." Sarah confidently said.
"Okay, if you say so." She said and smiled. Sarah frowned seeing her do that but her eyes widened when she heard someone behind her back.
"Kaye." It's an old man's voice.
"Oh, hi Dad."
