Alyana awakens, yet shuts her eyes when the daylight hits her face. She forgot to close the curtains prior to going to her bed the previous evening. She meandered her eyes around and saw her laptop, making her tired eyes broadened as a result of the thoughts running in her mind at the present time. She didn't do the documents her supervisor sent her, she was intending to, but her condition won without wanting to.
Looking at her wall clock, she sighed when she discovered that it's only 7 o'clock in the morning. She was certain she can do all of them before her work time, which is 11 a.m. She yawns while stretching her arms before going out to bed to do her morning routines.
"Alyana!" shock put all over her face as she heard her mom. She didn't wear her shirt appropriately yet she excitedly ran to the ground floor, her mom saw her and went close to her girl to hug her tight.
"Mom!" Alyana shouted, embracing.
"I thought you were coming back tomorrow? Where's dad? Did you come home with him?" Alyana asked her mother one after another. She smiled because of her daughter's cuteness. She first guided Alyana in the kitchen to prepare the breakfast she bought.
"He was still there, your dad's job in the factory has been made easier because he will have someone with him from now on," her mother said.
"Who else?" she asked. Her mother shrugged, as she also did not know who would be with her husband in his work. In recent days, they have been very surprised by the successive dismissal of workers in the factory where Alyana's father works. Thinking that the company did not really have the budget to pay all the workers, so they were reducing the number of people inside the factory.
"Don't worry, your father is a hardworking one. He will not lose his job," her mother tried to lessen her daughter's thoughts about that.
She just agreed with her mother, knowing her father. She will really knew that his father was one of the most talented people she ever met, she will not doubt his talent.
"How about you? Is Nix taking care of you?" she quickly took a glance at her mother when she heard her question. Making her frown, she did not know why she asked that suddenly.
"He is my boss now, mom. He doesn't need to take care of me," she said straightly.
"I know, but he is aware of your condition." her mother sighed. Alyana smiled and held her mother's hand on the table.
"I will be okay," she said.
"You can't stop me from worrying about you. I already said that you should just stay here, we can just bake some pies and sell them, but you still chose to work outside. I know you want to have a normal life, honey. However, not all the people can understand you," having teary eyes because of her mother. She stood up on her seat, leaving her food unfinished, and hugged her mother on her back.
"Mom, I want you to worry about yourself, not me. I will be fine, my boss knows my condition very well, since we were elementary. He was not really giving me a bunch of work, I am really fine whenever I am in the company," she said, trying to comfort her mother.
"I trust you, but I can't trust those people around you. What if someone takes advantage of my daughter while she is sleeping?" she stared at her mother, and tucked some of the hair covering her face on the back of her ears.
"Some of them know my condition, but they really understand it."
Her mother shook her head. "What about the others? We can't assure all the people will understand."
"Mom, trust me. I will be okay, if they did something wrong to me while sleeping. I will get back to them when I get awake," she chuckled, making her mother smile.
"You are so naughty, I can't even stop you."
Ever since, her mother doesn't want her to go to some places without her. However, she is old now, and she was thinking of taking care of her own self. She also wants to have a normal life. For Alyana, her condition is nothing, as long as she will be awake.
"Go, finish your food. I will just prepare your things," her mother stood up. Leaving her in the kitchen. She smiled because she knows her mother so much, even though she was so worried about her daughter, she will not let her be imprisoned of her own condition.
After eating and preparing, Alyana finished first the papers her boss sent her and directly went to the company to submit them.
"Good morning, Alyana!" as soon as she stepped inside the building someone in her back greeted her, she looked back and smiled as she saw her best friend waving her hands at her while smiling.
"Kaye," she uttered.
"Surprised?" Kaye asked. Alyana nodded at her and pulled her to sit on the couch.
"I thought you will be staying in Australia for good? What happened?" Kaye smiled.
"I want to visit you of course, and to check what my brother's doing here lately."
Hearing that, she stood up and ran towards Nix's office. She remembered that she was still holding the files Nix asked her to do.
She knocked on the door first before going in, however her eyes widened seeing a woman sitting on her boss' lap. Nix's heart pumps heavier when he saw Alyana and unconsciously pushes the woman who was trying to seduce him.
"O-ouch," the woman said while touching her butt and laying on the floor. Alyana covered her mouth when she saw the woman's face and quickly went to her to help.
"Miss Sarah! Are you okay?" she asked with concern in her voice while trying to help her, however Sarah hit her hands and glared at her in return.
"Don't touch me, dirty woman!" she shouted. Alyana frowned a bit and stood up. She then took a glance at Nix who was much more concerned about what Alyana will think than the woman he pushed, his fiance.
"Get up and leave my office." Nix coldly stated without looking at the woman.
"B-But, I'm hurt. I want to stay here babe." Sarah said before getting up, her voice was pleading but Nix seemed not to hear her and went to Alyana who was still confused while looking at them. He offered his hand to her, she realized what he wanted so she handed him the documents he was asking but he grabbed her hand instead and looked at the spot where Sarah hit her. Nix clenched his jaw when he saw the redness of Alyana's arms.
Alyana felt the awkwardness between them so she pulled her hands from him and smiled.
"Your sister is here, I will just check her again sir. Here's what you asked me to do, bye!" she quickly said and went outside the office. She released a heavy sigh when she finally got out of that rising tension.
"Ehem," someone cleared her throat so she looked at that person and saw Kaye who was raising her brows at her while crossing her arms. "You left me there," she added.
"I'm sorry, I just remembered that I need to give the file I was holding a while ago to your brother," Alyana said. Kaye smiled and held her hands.
"It's okay, I'm just kidding. I heard that the devil is here, what happened?" Kaye asked.
"I don't know it's their life, let's just go somewhere and treat me something delicious," Alyana said, walking faster. Kaye smiled first before following, she was happy knowing her brother's feelings for Alyana.
