The sky is red, for some reason. As Young Arino suddenly wakes up, he senses something is off. He is alive, somehow. All he saw when he was black and then he woke up in this place. As he perks up, he looks around checking his surroundings. As he looks around in shock, the realization hits him. As he walks around, all he gets is negative energy from the surrounding crowd.
He continues to walk forward, with nowhere to go. No place to call his home. As he continues to walk, he sees a guillotine. Arino laughs, knowing where he stands in this hierarchy. He couldn't protect his mom or his sister.
Arino: "This must be punishment, fitting."
Arino doesn't bother to eat anything for the next four days. No one with the shame of their own family members' death should even be bothered to live a normal life. As he goes back to his puke-filled 'home' in an alleyway, he remembers the words his father told him in a conversation with The Most High.
**years ago**
Mammon: "So, what brings you here, Dad?"
The Most High: "Eh, nothing much, just here to tell you a couple of things."
Mammon: What things, David?"
David: "Ah, you finally addressed me by my true name, took you long enough."
Mammon: "Hurry it up, I don't have all day."
David: "It's just to tell your son that if he betrays the ways we teach him, he'll certainly be punished. Those who don't at least have the protocols and morals that their family teaches them."
**present time**
Arino: "So, this was punishment. Should've just gone on the frontlines defending the village then."
Consciousness: "You were too weak to confront your fears, weren't you."
As his conscious says that, an adult Arino comes out. He slaps his child self in the face with no emotion in his face.
Adult Arino: "How many times do I have to tell you to stop being a little bitch. Dying on the front is way better than having a preventable death on your record. Now, look at you, living pitifully in this place. I'm done trying to warn you, you're on your own."
As young Arino pleads with adult Arino to come back, adult Arino tosses him off a nearby bridge.
Adult Arino: "Learn your lesson kid. Cover for yourself."
A loud sound echoed throughout the land, no one bears an eye to watch. No one hears his screams. He has completely been forgotten about. The formidable Son of Greed has been reduced to nothing but a laughable decoy.
"Oh my, what a surprise seeing you this disgraced, my forsaken nephew." A familiar voice speaks to Arino. As Arino wakes up, the woman chuckles.
