Chapter 29 - Apophis' Fury

"My name is Apophis!"

The voice boomed across the area that once used to be a cave. The heavens shook when the voice was transmitted into Siege's ears. The scene played out just like all the crazy MMORPG games he had read in the past.

"Apophis?!" Siege muttered, taking a step back. He instantly felt intimidated by the strange humanoid creature in the distance. He was yet to have a clear view of it.

The being who called itself Apophis stepped into view. To Siege's surprise, a human stepped out of the smoke, a pleasant smile contrasting his devilish outer appearance. Siege looked up to see the black eyes staring down at him. The figure was at least 7f tall...

His whole stance seemed sinister. He had a rogue like, black top that seemed just a little too big for it. He also wore a simple pair of black jeans, held together by a single long piece of black fabric. Cold and weathered were his eyes, full of irreversible darkness and hopelessness. One eye was red whilst the other was out of control, a shade of darkness...

His dark aura was a mix of black and crimson red. Although he didn't know it, the phenomenon slightly resembling Siege's mysterious aura. Siege's fear suddenly vanished, replaced by excitement and sudden thirst to kill.

"Finally, a worthy opponent!" Siege whispered, licking his lips. Meanwhile, Laila's arm teetered back and forth, in an out of control manner. "I'm losing it" Siege heard her mutter. Siege didn't know that Laila had seen Apophis before.

"Two friends here to challenge me, I see..." His voice reverberate throughout what was left of the cave. "You will never complete this trial and leave this place. You will be trapped here forever..."

"We're not friends!" Laila screamed, knowing she was near her death. She spun her wooden spear with speed Siege had never seen before. He didn't think it was humanly possible. Laila took a run up:

"I have nothing to lose!" she screamed, before thrusting her body forward and throwing the spear. She felt a sharp pain travel across her arm up to her shoulders as the spear disappeared from her hands...

'Ouch' she thought, as her body fell back down to the ground. She managed to land on her knees, her eyes still glued to the spear. A few seconds later, Siege saw the spear in Apophis' hands. He held it with elegance, as if he had seen it coming.

"What the f*ck?!" Laila screamed. "How?!"

Apophis inspected the stick with a cruel sneer. He gave the companions a withering look.

*Snap*

With just one hand, the creature snapped the spear in two. Once the two halves fell to the floor, Apophis stamped on it with such force the whole cave shook. Siege heard a crack. The spear, which Laila put so much care and hard work into, lay on the ground broken into little pieces.

'Such strength...'

Laila started walking backwards. She was seeing something beyond her skills and stamina. She knew Siege was telling the truth. She had been practicing the move just for this occasion. It took her so much power and stamina to even pull it of, let alone get a perfect degree of accuracy. Seeing the demon block it as if it was nothing petrified her to her core.

Her right arm didn't move. She couldn't fell it when she stretched it. Her lower half hurt like hell, the thrust from the blow had put intense pressure on her waist and hips.

"What are you?!" Both Siege and Laila murmured in unison, falling in a trance from the sheer power of the creature. "So this is our trial..."

*******

"Inspect" said Siege, staring at Apophis.
