"Act normal," Mare told Aisha as they walked down the hallway into the main ballroom.
"How normal is a human in the midst of demons and demonesses?" Aisha whispered in a rushed tone.
Mare was no help at all to her wrecked nervous system. Aisha's eyes darted here and there as she observed with maximum cautiousness for anyone that might approach them. One wasn't too overly wary for looming danger at all cost.
She had been so drowned in her tensed feeling that she didn't even notice herself chewing on her nails. It had been a habit of hers for as long as she could remember. Aisha had learned to avoid it at most times, but there were moments especially during crucial competitions that she just couldn't help herself, and right now it seemed like the right moment for chewing nails as well.
