By the time the grandfather clock chimed six in the morning, Aisha was already done with her preparations. All she needed to do now was to cook and finish just in time. Damien would be down in a quarter of an hour just as he told her the other night. Rechecking the time, Aisha sighed in relief and grabbed pans and utensils to start cooking.
The pans sizzled, and the savory smell of breakfast wafted in the air. Aisha bet everything into the menu she created, and hoped that with it, Damien would be less cold to her. Wiping sweat from her forehead, Aisha looked at the wall clock to see five minutes left to quarter to seven.
She placed the last plate to complete the table set-up, and now she shall wait for Damien. Aisha gave herself a pat on her back, slightly proud with the feast she had whipped up. She heard footsteps clack, and Aisha hurriedly cleaned the last of her mess in the kitchen.
