Jade opened her eyes and blinked to get the blurriness away.
The roof appeared to be the same and she remembered it very clearly, given that it was the last thing she had seen before closing her eyes and letting the effect of the drug take over her body.
It was still there. Whatever they had given her made her feel sleepy even though she felt like she should be wide awake.
It was a constant battle to open and close her eyes. Without the gift of sight, Jade felt powerless, especially when she was surrounded by people much stronger than her.
"Hey," she heard a soft whisper but her neck refused to turn in the direction of it.
Why did it feel like she was slowly losing control of her body?
"Calm down, Mate."
She felt something heavily land on the side of her head. It tickled, but slowly and successfully pulled her back to sleep.
