Instead of going out to have dinner with the pack together, she completely backed out of the decision. She was told by Malfrid that he would have to leave for some work and would have to miss dinner.
So, Jade outrightly refused the idea of going to the dinner alone.
It was his presence that made it easy and if he was not there then she had no reason to go there.
The next morning, when she woke up, Jade found Kira standing beside her, shaking her to wake up quickly because apparently it was today they had to leave for the gala.
"Today?" She confirmed again just in case she had heard it wrong.
"Uh huh," Kira nodded and focused on getting Jade ready. "No, not today but you have to leave early if you want to reach there in time."
How the hell had the Alpha failed to mention the Gala he had asked her to accompany the previous night was so soon that they actually had to leave the next day?
