As she walked inside, Jade could not help but try to shrug off the feeling that her mind was clouded with. It was the eyes of Malfrid that somehow managed to haunt her even when she was not there. The baby blue eyes of his had somehow imbedded themselves in her mind.
She chuckled. What was even thinking about? Jade had been on hundreds of missions before and she had never thought of a man's eye, but truth be told it had never taken her this long to complete a mission.
It was always a quick in and out in the darkness of the night.
She had almost made it to the guest room when she heard a knock. Jade stepped back from her room and peered from the balcony to see if any of the two hired helpers were going to answer the door.
The person knocked impatiently again and by this time and would have usually answered the door which only made Jade sigh in tiredness before walking downstairs again.
This was painful. Where were the two women when Jade needed them?
