"These are the only clothes we have," Wendy's father said as he handed over the baggy and loose linen shirt and a pair of loose black pants. "I guess you have to make do with this, young man."
Kai grabbed the clothes from Wendy's father and glanced at Valerie, who seemed to be looking forward to him wearing the clothes. Then, he entered a room with a wooden door that served as where they could change their clothes, probably a private room.
"I'll be back in a few minutes," said Kai in a tiny voice
Wendy's house was small. The only place where they gathered was already the living and dining area all at once. The room that Kai entered seemed to be where they slept as well.
Candlelights lit up the room, and the breeze of the wind carried the smell of a lot of different scents of lavender. Wendy's mother was sitting on the chair by another side of the room. She looked tired, but her face brightened up when she saw them.
