Sleep was something that revolved around Valerie's head. But even if she was already a little bit tired, she couldn't bring herself to sleep. Maybe it was because of the sudden change of environment.
Valerie had always been a light sleeper. Though lately, she had been sleeping like a log and couldn't even bother with anyone. She chose to face the wall of the room as her object of interest, but she suddenly found it boring and plain.
In the end, Valerie turned around, and she was now facing Kai. His eyes were already closed, and he was already breathing slowly. It seemed like Kai fell asleep first.
Kai had a gentle face, but whenever Valerie was in danger or in need of help, his face transformed into something ferocious. Yet, he had always been there to protect her.
And that had always been something Valerie was grateful for.
