Maria left Marco's room filled with so much joy it radiated in her face. Finally, she was getting somewhere with him. It had been quite an informative day, and all she wanted to do now was sleep.
On the way to her room, she saw Shorty. She beamed more at that sight. Vincenzo wasn't only the one that traveled. Shorty had also briefly gone missing.
"Miss Maria," he bowed courteously. She giggled at his silly little display.
"You're back," she said more like a statement rather than a question.
He nodded, and she could see the fatigue in his whole body. She didn't want to keep him from the comfort of his bed any longer, so she promised to have a chat with him the next day, and they both bode themselves goodnight.
However, just as Shorty walked past her towards his room, she caught a glimpse of a mischievous smile spread across his face. It reminded her of the smile she saw on Zino's face just as she came out of her brother's room.
