Chapter 7 - Day 7: {Exploration}

Now that I've secured myself a guaranteed water supply, I think I should explore, maybe look for some roaches to farm.

.

.

.

Yeah no roaches are nasty.

I think it'd be interesting to explore the outdoors, there was a dead guy that had a hazmat suit in his bunker, and he was just my size. Maybe I could find like matches or something, cooking seems great right now. Cooked vienna weenies and canned chili seems amazing right now, with some potatoes too.

.

.

.

Maybe I could find a fridge? Nah, and even if I did it'd be too big. But man, I'd kill for some cooked chili right now. I know it's all pre cooked, but something warm for once for this cold old soul will warm me whole.

I put on the hazmat suit, man it stinks in this bunker, like rotten flesh. Ew.

Definitely gotta change quick.

Getting out of that bunker was one of the happiest things to happen to me in recent memory.

That's saying something, now all I need is a fridge, some matches, or something.

.

.

.

Which direction should I go.

Hmmmm.

Down right.

Going straight into that direction, there's dead trees, dying trees, grasslands that didn't get affected much by the radiation. Y'know, normal post-extinction event stuff.

"Dang, just a lot of nothing. I guess it's to be expected."

.

.

.

More nothing, dang there's nothing in Albania.

WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?

It's a domino line of dead, decomposing bodies, turning my head to the left, I see a bakery. Well I know what happened then.

Maybe I can find a couples cockroaches to breed, protein is protein. Maybe a mini fridge too?

.

.

.

Going into probably the worst smelling place you've ever smelt is just ugh.

Moldy bread, moldy bodies, just mold, mold, and more mold.

I go in the back, I turn to my right and see a highly detailed drawing on the wall of a woman covered in flour, you can guess the rest if you have an imagination. It's not as bad as you think, I guarantee you that's G rated there.

Oh look more pictures.

Not even joking, they are all G levels, just the women are very curvy. The person that drew these was either a married man that wanted something different, but didn't wanna get divorced on, or a lady that just had wayyyy too much fun drawing stuff with ideas that without a detailed description can get you canceled.

What am I saying, being a male even got you canceled for existing until 2040 when Gen Alpha was old enough to actually do something.

I miss my ex. I dumped her because she didn't believe the war would go nuclear either, so I dumped her 6 months before I moved here.

I look for other stuff that could potentially help me. No cockroaches, that's surprising.

Then the refrigerator was the next thing to look at.

One,

Two,

Three.

"Okay, here I go."

.

.

.

I can't unsee this.

Black mold everywhere.

But there IS an unopened factory sealed jar of honey, hell yeah.

I got an absolute steal.

"Well at least this trip isn't a flop."

There's also some McDonnell's burgers lying around in the freezer.

I mean if I find matches, this is free.

Looking in the pantry, there's some extra virgin olive oil, this is a factory sealed pantry, so all of this is safe.

I mean flavor is flavor, I can't be picky yknow?

This might have been for olive oil cakes or something.

I might try and raid the Albania equivalent to Walltargemark. I mean I could find coffee grounds and a coffee maker. Money doesn't exist, it's not stealing if no one claims it.

I need a car though and I don't think a car would be nearby that works.

HOLY CRAP A FOLDABLE BIKE IS RIGHT OUTSIDE.

I just scored beyond belief.

Next time I go out, I'm definitely going this way, maybe what used to be a town or city is nearby. That seems amazing.
