None of the replies seemed appropriate, or was it just wishful thinking? Lina had made a mistake, just like she had with Ezra. Why couldn't she accept it? Hadn't she apologized already? Somehow, Cleo felt the apology was too flimsy, Lina was her best friend, someone who was supposed to have her back. But at the slightest hint of trouble, she ran. They'd been through tougher times together, so what was this they couldn't conquer? Cleo debated whether to call or text. If it was her, what would she do? Calling would get things sorted out faster, and texting..? Texting would just be her trying to distract herself from her thoughts, she wouldn't be able to express herself properly. In the end, Cleo gave in and decided to call Lina. She picked up on the third ring. 

"Hey," her voice was small, reproachful. Cleo got up weakly from the floor and closed the room door, just in case her parents might be eavesdropping. 

"Hi."
