Wasting no time, she took a quick shower, but before she could finish dressing up, their car honked downstairs. When she had thought she could catch up with them at the court, they had beaten her to it. Seeing no use for it, she wiped off her already decorated face and took off her dress, changing it into something lighter, and rushed downstairs.
As she leaped over the last step, she met Braxton stomping in with his tie loose and his jacket in his hand. He looked like he could wrestle the devil. As he marched to her with his jaw clenched and nose twitching, she needed no sage to tell her the verdict passed.
As soon as he was one inch near her, she pulled him into a consoling hug.
" They sentenced him to ten years and we still paid a million dollars in damages. I don't even know what to do with my mother," he whispered, lamenting in her arms. Even though his father had brought this upon himself, he still felt the man deserves another chance.
