"...James we are gonna be late, and I'm telling you, if we..."
"We're gonna be fine Lils, wait wait not the fac-..."
"Moooom, I can't find my other sho-"
"~Accio Daniel's shoe~"
A flying shoe whizzed past Rigel who only looked up momentarily at the usual chaos happening around him, he was reading a book like always. The effects of The Shrinking Charm when used on a human were downright dangerous and fascinating at the same time. While he considered that most of the time magic did account a lot for human error, for some reason in the case of Human transfiguration and spells that affect the human mind this was no longer the case.
'Maybe it had to do something with the magic present in the brain, I really need to get to the Room of Requirements as soon as possible to get a hold of a book explaining Occlumency to him.'
Occlumency was the one point where he failed to make any headway, he achieved every target he had set other than that. There was no book related to mind magic in the Potter Library which was a bit surprising to him, he understood why they weren't worried about Harry because he had the heir ring that would prevent anyone from using Legilimency on him, but what about Daniel when he goes to Hogwarts, surely they didn't have extra rings that simply nullified mind magic otherwise it would be pointless to label Legilimency as a Dark Art.
"You're still reading?" Harry flopped beside him, Rigel gave him a look and Harry instantly protested, "Come on it's been a month dude, let it go!"
Rigel ignored the frustrated Harry as he focused back on the book, the tension between the two of them has been on the rise during the last month, he really did want to ignore the spat but he really didn't want his first Story ranked quest to be abandoned just because Harry was being stubborn.
He got the quest almost a month ago on 30th July, it was the day of the annual Potter Gala. He didn't want to be involved with all the press and other bullshit so he stayed in the Potter Library as always, after he exhausted all his mana with the levitation spell, he walked to the window and looked down to see what was happening. Through the window, he saw Harry and Dumbledore having a chat by one of the trees isolated from everyone else. That's when the quest popped up, it was a simple quest he thought with quite lucrative rewards, and if he had got that reward maybe he won't be stuck at just year 2 level spells like he was now.

[Story Quest: A silent conversation]
[Harry Potter is not the main character of this story, Neville is the Boy-Who-Lived, and Daniel is his best friend. Harry Potter is just an older brother to the BWL. While everyone celebrated another year of no snake-face, two titans from different timelines shared a small conversation together.]
[Find out what Harry and Dumbledore talked about. Time remaining - xx:xx:xx]
[Rewards:]
[+25,000 EXP]

While the rewards were lucrative there was another fact that was bugging Rigel, it was the way Harry acted after that day, he was a lot more focused, spending more time in the Library reading. He even made Rose cry when he refused to play with her the next day because he was practicing a spell.
'It's the manipulative Dumbledore isn't it, he got into Harry's head and Harry now is already preparing for a war...'
Rigel didn't hate Dumbledore... okay so he hated Dumbledore, he was a typical politician, herald of the 'Greater Good' theory. He hoped that in this timeline it was a good Dumbledore, but instead, what he got was the 'Good' Dumbledore. This just made him want to start grinding more to make sure everyone survive Voldemort's descent.
Harry annoyed him because when he point blank asked him about the conversation he simply denied having it, and although it was a little difficult to say goodbye to the Potter Library, he stopped coming by. The only reason Sirius managed to drag him here was because he pulled the Rose card on him.
He looked up and sure enough, Sirius's eyes were on him the whole time. He was a little fed up from the constant tip-toeing and being away at Hogwarts seemed like a dream come true in more ways than one.
"Alright everyone ready?" Lily asked, Rigel closed his book and opened his trunk slightly to chuck it in, everyone gathered around and Lily simply repeated the arrangement she made whenever they went on a field trip.
A short, and very uncomfortable second later he was standing in a discrete alley somewhere in the heart of London. Everyone followed James as he led the way, although to any passerby it would have seemed weird that a whole group of people, two of them carrying their trunks just appeared out from a small alley. Sirius waved his wand and the crowd started parting automatically, everyone's eyes simply glided over their group as the cavalry arrived at the Kings Cross Station.
Rigel looked at the familiar infrastructure as they made it to platform 9, the wall this time wasn't glowing blue, and Rigel had a theory he wanted to test. His ticket was in his trunk, so he walked up to the wall and let go of his trunk. He reached forward with his hand and felt the solid wall.
'So the ticket does matter, at least for the first time it does otherwise Sirius and the rest of them might not be able to follow us onto the platform... does this mean if I give this ticket to a muggle then he can also go through this barrier.'
"Found something peculiar again?" Rigel heard Lily ask from right behind him. He nodded as he grabbed hold of his trunk and lifted his hand again, he watched his hand go into the concrete like dipping his hand in water.
"You really are sharp-eyed aren't you," Lily complimented Rigel before she explained, "The barrier to the platform is a very special magic, it was made by the founders together with the Hogwarts registry, during those times the Wizarding world wasn't a safe place, that's why Hogwarts is a defendable castle. This was an additional safety mechanism that the founders devised, the tickets to Hogwarts Express are printed by the Hogwarts registry along with everyone's letters. While back in those days the train wasn't there, but instead, carriages were drawn by Thestrals. I hope you don't but there are several Thestrals living in Hogwarts grounds that are descendants of that era. So only the people who have been to Hogwarts, meaning the alumnus and the students themselves who were young and pure could take refuge in Hogwarts in times of war."
Rigel nodded before he froze as he thought about snatching Harry's ticket and rushing through the wall.
'...I fucking jinxed myself!'
