Chapter 14 - An Unexpected Adventure! Part-1

{4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey, England}

{07:01 AM, 5th June, 1988}

Rigel looked at the mailbox carefully, making sure that he wasn't misreading anything he turned back to look at the house once again. The house was a rather unremarkable residence, blending in with the other similar houses on the street. It is a two-story home with a small front garden and a driveway. The house can be described as being neat and orderly, reflecting the Dursleys' desire to maintain an appearance of normality and conformity.

Lily did a quick headcount and made sure everyone was present before she rang the doorbell. Sirius put Rose down on his shoulders while we waited for the door to open. Petunia was thin, that was the only way Rigel could describe her, she looked like a hanger with clothes walking around the house. Rigel wanted to burst out laughing seeing the exaggerated way in her eyes almost popped but he kept it in.

'I'm rather surprised there are no verbal spats or something like that, looks like at least Lily reconciled with her sister in this timeline'

She invited us all in for a cup of tea and although James and Sirius seemed reluctant, a glare from Lily and the whole group followed her into the house. The hallway was getting rather cramped so you waited for everyone else to go in before following but a blue glow at the corner of your eye caught your attention.

While everyone went through the hallway towards the living room you stared at the softly glowing door. The door to the cupboard under the stairs was glowing, and with almost a hypnotic curiosity Rigel reached for the door knob. As soon as he touched the door knob a notification appeared in front of him.

--------------------------

[Dungeon Discovered {A door to another World}]

--------------------------

[You have discovered a Dungeon. Title gained - Dungeon Pioneer]

--------------------------

[Do you want to enter {A door to another World}, Dungeon Gate Cooldown - 3 days]

[YES/NO]

--------------------------

Rigel had to stop himself from impulsively clicking on Yes, he had no information on what he would have to face, there was no level warning or anything that came with the Dungeon, and the fact that this dungeon was supposedly in a started area did give him a feeling that at least this would be a starter Dungeon.

After hesitating for a bit Rigel looked back to the living room, Petunia was going through fake/real pleasantries, not wanting to watch anymore he clicked 'Yes' and the door opened. Inside the door was just plain white, it was like a luminous film covering the entrance, Rigel steeled himself and walked through the door.

As the bright light faded Rigel found himself looking at the same house once again, it puzzled him for a moment as he looked at the same house once again.

'The portal teleported me just outside the house?'

It didn't make a lot of sense but when he looked closely he realized that not everything was the same, the garden was a lot bigger, there were more flowers, and the grass in the lawn was cut to perfection. As Rigel noticed the discrepancies in Petunia's lawn the door opened and a portly man walked out of the house, he was grumbling about something but stopped once he looked at Rigel standing in front of him.

His mustache quivered as he looked at Rigel up and down, the stare was interrupted by Harry dragging a trunk through the front door.

"Who are you kid, are you lost?" Vernon Dusley asked, not that it was that hard to guess who it was, the green letters floating above his head already clued him in. The surprise though was the words floating above Harry's head.

"No my folks are moving into the area, I was just looking around," Rigel shook his head and moved along, he walked slowly enough to hear Vernon complain.

"Come on boy! I don't have time to waste, I'll leave you at your station, you can make your way after that yourself." Vernon spoke/shouted as Rigel watched Harry, who had to use all his body weight to lift his trunk into the car's trunk.

Rigel ignored the duo again and this time he started walking toward the end of the road, he was reeling from shock for a moment. This wasn't what he was expecting at all. The reason he hesitated before entering the dungeon was that when anyone thinks about a Dungeon, the first image that comes to their mind is skeletons clanging towards you waving rusty swords in a dark underground passage, where you can grind exp and level up.

You don't get teleported into an alternate world with no explanation whatsoever. As Rigel watched Dursley's car pull away and ride away from Surrey, a notification finally popped in front of him providing some context.

Rigel read through everything, his thoughts were still a bit muddled as the situation that he found himself in was a bit unexpected. Still, the quest did provide him with some context, he started moving towards #4 Pivet Drive.

He quickly noticed the Dungeon Pioneer title and the extra stat points he now had, his thoughts immediately went to the spell he wasn't able to learn before. Rigel ducked into Petunia's garden, he concentrated and flicked his wand up and down twice, and then he drew a circle in mid-air and jabbed his wand through the circle to aim at a flower.

"~Petrificus Totalus~"

[Spell Learned {Full Body-Bind Curse}]

-5 Mana used per cast.

--------------------------

A white ray of light left his wand blowing a hole through the flower bush, Rigel felt guilty for a second before he remembered that this was just an instance dungeon and none of this was real. He walked to the step and rang a doorbell before he began concentrating because it was a newly learned spell he can't guarantee that the spell would work if he didn't concentrate.

It was Petunia who opened the door, her face froze in a pleasant smile as she toppled backward, Rigel quickly rushed to the cupboard. The door wasn't glowing so he was sure that his first guess was wrong, but he still opened the door anyway. He saw a small blanket that was pushed aside, the cupboard was dusty so he closed the door and rushed out of the house.

'I'm not from this world so the trace on my wand shouldn't work. Still, I don't know the countercurse to the Full Body Bind, so I should leave here as soon as possible.'

Rigel ran for a bit toward the direction where just a few minutes ago he saw Vernon and Harry going.

'Now that that didn't work out, where could the exit be...'

AN - What do you think about this dungeon system, it is both a convenient way to create small adventures for Rigel, and to have a little more variety rather than Rigel chooses Incendio, Incendio is super effective, skeleton dies...

While not all the Dungeons will be this drastically different, some of them would be, they would allow Rigel to go between time and space to different times across the history of the Wizarding World, like the Marauders Era, or Tom Riddles Era, with different quests and enemies every time! Though that's in theory, we'll see how I have to balance out some things with this idea of mine, this was the only way I could think of to try and supplement the rather monotonous lectures he would have to endure for the next 3 years until Voldemort comes back.

P.S. Advanced chapter would be available starting today like for my other story. If you wanna support the story.
