I was lucky enough to get a second chance, and now I was about to lose it, all due to some low level bat? I could already hear running from afar, and then I heard a roar. My body started dashing away. It seems like although it was already trying to kill me, its instincts got the better of it, and it wanted to run away. Just as I would see what would happen next, I lost consciousness.

Elder Ji POV
I had accepted the quest from the system to obtain the items needed for my first disciple's other physique to awaken, the Divine Lunar Physique. The herbs needed to awaken it were a bunch of supporting herbs I already had, and the main ingredient, located in the Guangxiang Forest, known as the Night Lily. I heard fighting, so I decided to look in the direction of it. I focused Qi in my eyes, and lo and behold, I find Jiang Yi fighting a bat, using… WIND? He'd already picked his first element, huh? I saw him stomp on the creature's head after imbuing his leg with Qi. It tore through its head, and there were small pieces of the skull everywhere. Blood splattered on his clothes, but I don't think he cared. He.. did something that cracked its core, and I saw some weird-looking energy enter him. His body (what looked to be)involuntarily made weird screeching sounds that were quite painful to the ears.
I heard a loud growl, 'Jiang Yi' started to run, and, after a few minutes, a NASCENT SOUL TIGER came out, sprinting at speeds that would put even the most nimble Wind cultivators to shame. It was grey, with green markings and blue eyes, and it had markings that signified it had the metal element, as well as wood. Well, damn. I never expected to see a Nascent Soul beast here. I should step in, it looks like he's about to die.
I grabbed my sword from its sheath, and coated it in wind going at a fast speed for that extra +10 damage. I then materialised water on the floor, catching the tiger off guard and making it slip. While it was on the ground, I used my wind to float up and stab its head. It managed to get back up, and summoned large, sharp wooden stakes that looked like it would cause a lot of pain. I dodged all of them, but one grazed me. I swore. Holy shit, why does that hurt so much? Shouldn't I have pain resistance due to being at a high cultivation? Or maybe I'm just a coward who's worried about feeling a little bit of pain. Well, anyways, I got back up, materialized water around my sword, and said: ''Wet Panting: Eleventh Form: Absolute Tranquility!''(A/N: avoiding copyright ftw) . I'll never get tired of that, going from living in a boring world, living in a boring family, having my everyday schedule be the same things, it gets boring. And now I'm in a cultivation world where I can do anything I want to, and even please my inner child?
Well, anyways, back to the kid.
After staying with him for a while, stopping him from trying to kill himself again with louder screeches, he finally came to his senses, and stopped whatever he was doing.
''You... Explain to me what that was, now.'' I said.

Jiang Yi POV
Shit. That young elder saw what happened, and I'm going to have to give him an explanation, aren't I?
''Show me your wind element, now.'' He demanded.
I refused, and he threatened me with telling the sect's higher-ups what happened. I gave in, as I A) don't want to die, as they'd probably kill me, because they'd think it was a demonic technique(which it technically is but also isn't?) and B) If I managed to survive, they'd report it, and I'd be in the same situation as my past life, except without having backstabbing 'friends', and not being part of a demonic sect.
His eyes lit up, and he told me,
''Why did you hide this from me? Two of my disciples have variants and I'd help you with it!''
Because I didn't know, smartass.
''I'll only tell the sect if you refuse to be my disciple.''
''Why, though? What if I just leave the sect and hide?''

[Warning: Host, your favorability with Target 'Jiang Yi' Will drop to the negatives if you continue this.]
Goddamnit, I forgot this kid had the title 'Free Spirit'. I've been going around this the wrong way!
''Well, how about this. Every day, for around 3 hours, I will act as your teacher.''
He seemed a bit puzzled on why I requested that, but accepted. Weirdly enough, I got a notification at this moment, but I was currently dealing with something important, so I'd check it after. I told him to stay here, and that I would get something, and then come back. He nodded, and waved at me, to say goodbye. I waved back, and said goodbye too.
Just as I left, I got a good look at the notification

Yep, it was worth getting Jiang Yi too, but what's up with that Completion Rate? Why's it so low?

Jiang Yi POV
This idiot really left me in the middle of a forest, right after he found out that I was a variant capable of 'levelling' up . How dumb can one man be?
