"What have you got?" Luca immediately asked when Dante entered his study.
"It's odd. I don't think it's Protacio. I haven't noticed any suspicious movement from his gang."
"Then who tried to kill me? Protacio is the only potential suspect for now because I killed his son."
"I actually got a response from Protacio, and I forgot to tell you about it. He agreed not to make a fuss over his son's death. Which was suspicious. Judging from Protacio's personality, he would have still done something to avenge his son because his pride as a mafia lord would never be able to take it."
Luca nodded.
"Luca, are you sure, though?" Dante asked meaningfully.
Luca frowned in confusion.
"Are you sure that it was you they were trying to kill and not Juliette?"
Luca's throat became parched and cold sweats started to form on his forehead. It never crossed his mind that the target could be Juliette.
"Did you take a look at the bodies?"
Dante shook his head.
