But I could not leave. I sat there in George's arms and just let my tears fall.
'It's going to be okay.' George said.
But that was not true, everything was not going to be okay. With the way things were going, it was sure that everything was only going to get worse.
'Is it?' I asked him.
I did not want him to lie or sugarcoat anything, I needed him to tell me the truth.
'Yes, everything will be okay.' He said and held me closer.
I liked the vanilla smell of his shirt, and it made me hungry. I tried to remember the last time I had eaten but no time was coming to mind.
'Dad, I'm hungry.' I looked at dad and said. His hands were out of his pocket. At least, that was a good thing.
'What do you want? We could order pizza or something.' Dad responded.
'I think I want Thai takeouts. I'm just really hungry.' I held my tummy.
