I just held my lower abdomen and stared at her. I hated that my body had gotten in the way of our intimacy again. My body which yearned so much for her still tried its best to fight her off.
'It's not your breath.' I managed to say.
'So, something is wrong. What did I do?' She walked to me and held my shoulder.
'You touched my surgery site. It hurts so much but I'll be fine in a few weeks.' I forced a smile.
I could tell by the look on her face that it was the fakest smile she had ever seen.
'I am so sorry about that. You had surgery?' She asked.
I was not surprised in the slightest. If she knew I had surgery, then I would have concluded she was an obsessed stalker.
'Yeah, some complications came up and the baby needed to be apart from me.'
'I know it's weird to ask now but tell me, where is the baby?'
