'Miss Davis, how do you feel today?' The second doctor asked.
'Not too great now that you've noticed an odd beat.' I said.
He laughed and then waved his hand. I saw his wedding ring and something about it calmed me down.
'Your blood pressure is just high. That isn't a very good thing especially now that your EDD is close.' He said.
The only person I knew that constantly tried to control their blood pressure was my mum. I had no idea if it was one of those things that ran in the family. At that point, I was very ignorant about the whole thing.
'What does it mean?' I questioned.
'I'm not trying to scare you, but a lot of complications follow childbirth if the mother has high blood pressure. My reconciliation is rest. Just rest as much as you can.'
I wondered if he was joking. Did he not know that I was on bed rest? There was no way for me to rest more than the way I was.
'I am on bed rest. I think I'm resting fine.'
