'Lily is dead, and I do not care anymore. I'm ready to confess.' Emily's voice was rather quiet.
'Wait, it has to do with Lily?' I asked.
And like they had both seen a ghost, they shook. They did not expect me to be there, so they argued like children.
'Kassandra, please, don't get involved in this.' Mum smiled.
It was a very fake smile and even she knew it was not convincing at all.
'Get involved in what? What is going on?' I asked.
'Emily, please, leave.' Mum said sharply.
'No mum, no one is leaving till someone tells me what in the world is going on.' Tears had gathered in my eyes.
'It's nothing, Kassy, really.' Emily picked her bag up.
'What happened? Why were you arguing?' I asked.
'Lily was our sister.' It was Alicia.
She had heard everything they said through the thin walls but what she said made no sense. Lily was my best friend not my sister.
