'I'm pregnant and the father of the baby is either dead or on the run and I haven't been in a good place since I found out. I've been a total jerk to my family, and I really hate myself for it.'
'I hear you and I understand you, but I need to ask, you haven't been in a good place since you found what out? Your pregnancy or news about your baby daddy?'
I wasn't sure what was making me worry more. You did not cross my mind as often as I thought you would and the pregnancy did not bother me, perhaps it was the test I was supposed to run later that week that made my tummy feel tight.
'Everything?' I said reluctantly.
'Kassy, everything can't make you worry. I mean they could but there has to be one thing that you focus on all the time, you know?'
I did know what she meant.
'I got raped.'
She squinted her eyes, and like she had processed the news, she widened them and put her hand over her mouth. That was very dramatic, even for me.
