Chapter 169 - There's A Catch

'Do you want milk or tea to go with those cookies?' She walked to the kitchen.

'Yes. Milk is fine. I haven't had cookies and milk since junior high.' I laughed.

Mum always made me take cookies and milk when I returned from school because she needed me to sleep.

At the time I thought she was being mean but I began to realize she just wanted me to enjoy the liberty of sleep as much as I could.

I stayed at Amy's until two hours before my shift. I knew I was going to work not for my baby anymore, but for my family, because we needed to keep the house any way we could.

The ice cream shop was as busy as ever and it was very tiring for me. I had done enough walking for one day but I needed to endure just so I could get my pay for the day. 

I was glad that not a lot of people I knew visited the shop. I did not want to start explaining why I took the job to anyone, I just wanted to work my shift and head home.
